Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’, starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt and Sara Arjun, is showing no signs of slowing down. And the movie continues to rake in the moolah at the box office. The film, which was released in cinemas on December 5, earned Rs 27 crore on its fifth day of release, Tuesday. According to Sacnilk, the total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 153.25 crore.

On Tuesday, the film had an overall occupancy of 39.66 per cent. ‘Dhurandhar’ witnessed an increase in collection on Tuesday as the film had previously minted Rs 23.25 crore on Monday, the fourth day of its release. According to Pinkvilla, ‘Dhurandhar’ has already surpassed the Rs 200 crore mark worldwide.

‘Dhurandhar’ has taken just five days to surpass the Rs 150 crore mark, and the film is on track to emerge as Ranveer Singh's highest-grosser. The film has already earned more than ‘Gully Boy’, which had minted Rs 139.63 in its lifetime run at the domestic box office.

The action flick will surpass the lifetime haul of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ on Wednesday, the sixth day of its release. As soon as this happens, ‘Dhurandhar’ will become Ranveer's highest-grosser in six years. Ranveer's highest-grossing overall film is Rohit Shetty's 'Simmba', which has earned Rs 295 crore at the domestic box office in its lifetime.

‘Dhurandhar’ will also become Aditya Dhar's most successful film, as the project is set to surpass ‘URI: The Surgical Strike’. The latter, starring Vicky Kaushal, had earned Rs 244.14 crore in 2019. The film has almost 10 days to earn as much money as possible. ‘Dhurandhar’ will face stiff competition from 'Avatar: Fire And Ash', once it releases in theatres on December 19.

The audience reviews are overwhelmingly positive for the project; hence, it is no surprise that, for five consecutive days, 'Dhurandhar' managed to earn more than Rs 20 crore. Speaking of ‘Dhurandhar’, the film also stars Gaurav Gera and Rakesh Bedi.

It is an underworld saga that follows a network of criminals, informants, and operatives. The film is produced by Aditya Dhar and his brother Lokesh Dhar through their banner B62 Studios alongside Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios.

Prior to the film's release, many social media users suggested that Ranveer Singh’s character might be based on Major Mohit Sharma, the Ashoka Chakra awardee who famously infiltrated the Hizbul Mujahideen after going undercover as ‘Iftikhar Bhatt’ in the early 2000s. However, Aditya Dhar revealed on X that the film had no connection to Major Mohit Sharma’s life.

'Dhurandhar 2' was confirmed at the end of the first film, and it is set to hit the theatres on March 19, 2026, marking the end of the saga. Ranveer Singh's character will be out for vengeance after killing Akshaye Khanna's Rehman Dakait. 'Dhurandhar 2' will clash with Yash's 'Toxic' at the box office as both films will be releasing in theatres on the occasion of Eid 2026.
