What Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma Said About Ranveer Singh’s Performance In ‘Dhurandhar 2’; Call Aditya Dhar…
This is how Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli reacted to Ranveer Singh’s performance in ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ and also had the ultimate praise for Aditya Dhar.
Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has not only shattered box office records but has now earned the ultimate seal of approval from Bollywood and cricket royalty. Power couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli took to social media to share their glowing reviews of the film, showering praise on filmmaker Aditya Dhar and lead actor Ranveer Singh for creating what they described as a “flawless” and brilliant “cinematic experience”.
Anushka Sharma, who shared the screen with Ranveer Singh in his 2010 debut ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ and later in ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’ (2011) and ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ (2015), expressed her immense pride in her former co-star. On her Instagram Stories, she lauded the film’s "meticulously crafted" narrative, noting the conviction required to pull off a nearly four-hour-long movie that remains "gripping and immersive" throughout. “@ranveersingh You seized a once-in-a-lifetime character and delivered a solid, flawless performance,” she wrote.
Anushka also extended her congratulations to the ensemble cast, giving specific mentions to R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Rakesh Bedi. She noted that the film would be "unthinkable" without their contributions, stating that every performance landed perfectly.
Virat Kohli was equally moved by the film, calling it a “cinematic experience” unlike anything else made in India. The cricket icon confessed that despite the film’s daunting runtime, he “didn't flinch once for almost 4 hours”. Virat Kohli also labelled director Aditya Dhar a “genius” and remarked that Ranveer Singh has “attained a different level” with this role, describing his performance as "beyond brilliant."
The director was visibly overwhelmed by the appreciation. Responding to Anushka, Aditya Dhar thanked her for the encouragement, stating it pushes his team to tell stories with more "honesty, heart, and purpose." To Kohli, whom he called a "once-in-a-generation legend," Aditya Dhar admitted the praise "just hits different," adding that Kohli’s leadership on the cricket field inspires the film team to make India proud through their work.
‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ follows the journey of Jaskirat Singh (also known as Hamza), an Indian spy who infiltrates terror networks in Lyari, Pakistan. The sequel delves into his origins while taking the high-stakes geopolitical narrative forward.
The film has been a juggernaut at the box office, becoming the first Hindi film to earn Rs 1000 crore net at the domestic box office. Within just 20 days of its release, it has surged past the Rs 1600 crore mark globally. Following its predecessor – the 2025 blockbuster ‘Dhurandhar’ – the sequel also features Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Gaurav Gera in key roles, cementing its status as one of the biggest successes in Indian cinema history.
