Virat Kohli was in fine form on Sunday, scoring 166 runs off just 110 balls with the help of 13 fours and 8 sixes in the third ODI against Sri Lanka.
The horror of the bad patch is over and Virat Kohli is back to doing what he does best -- scoring centuries for fun! It is hard to recall that there was a period of almost three years in which Virat Kohli did not score even a single century. However, ever since scoring a T20I ton against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup last year, the fortunes for the maverick batter changed and in a span of four ODIs, Virat Kohli has added three more centuries to his name.
On Sunday, in the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka in Thiruvananthapuram, Virat Kohli was in fine form on Sunday, scoring 166 runs off just 110 balls with the help of 13 fours and 8 sixes.
Kohli's batting impressed his ladylove Anushka Sharma, who took to Instagram Story to praise her husband. "What a guy, what an inning played," she wrote.
Anushka also used a sticker on her Instagram Story which said: "Shaabash."
Kohli's knock had helped India post a massive score of 390/5 in the allotted 50 overs.
India eventually won the game comprehensively as they defeated Sri Lanka by 317 runs.
As a result, India registered the biggest margin of victory by runs in the history of men's ODI cricket.
Kohli had a fine outing in the ODIs against Sri Lanka as he ended the series with a total of 283 runs. He had also scored a century in the first ODI as well.
The right-handed batter will next be seen in action in the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, beginning Wednesday, January 18.
