Actor Vikrant Massey is having a dream run as his new Hindi movie '12th Fail' is still winning the love of the audience, despite releasing in theatres in October 2023. In the latest entertainment news, Vikrant Massey recently won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Critics) for his performance in the Vidhu Vinod Chopra-directorial '12th Fail'. This is Vikrant's debut win at the prestigious ceremony and what makes the feat more memorable is that the actor defeated the likes of Manoj Bajpayee, Pankaj Tripathi, Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vicky Kaushal to clinch the award.
For the unversed, '12th Fail is based on the 2019 book of the same name, and it tells the real-life story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma.
In the latest Bollywood news update, Vikrant Massey went to meet the real-life Manoj Kumar after clinching the Filmfare Award.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Manoj Kumar shared a photo of himself posing alongside Vikrant Massey holding the Black Lady, and wrote, "Jab ek Manoj dusre Manoj ko apni Filmfare trophy dikhaane laata hai, tab uss par aur bhi pyaar aata hai."

Earlier, Vikrant Massey had shared a picture on his Instagram Stories, showing that he has kept the Filmfare trophy in the pooja room inside his house.
At the Filmfare Awards, '12th Fail' also won awards for Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Editing.
Talking about '12th Fail', the Vidhu Vinod Chopra directorial minted more than Rs 50 crore in India, despite clashing with Kangana Ranaut-starrer 'Tejas'.
The long list of ‘12th Fail’ fans among celebrities, includes Kamal Haasan, Hrithik Roshan, Vijay Deverakonda, Rishabh Shetty, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Sanjay Dutt, Farhan Akhtar, Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap, among others.
Apart from Vikrant Massey, '12th Fail' also stars Medha Shankr, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee.
The 2023 Hindi movie chronicles Manoj's life as a young boy from Chambal, who manages to become an IPS officer after years of hard work and dedication.
