The Hindi movie, which starred Vikrant Massey in the lead role, released in theatres in October 2023. Despite clashing with Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Tejas’, the Vidhu Vinod Chopra directorial minted more than Rs 50 crore in India. Recently, the film premiered on Disney+ Hotstar, and netizens have been going gaga over the classic underdog story.

‘12th Fail’ tells the real-life story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma (Vikrant Massey) and his wife-IRS officer, Shraddha Joshi, played by Medha Shankr. The 2023 Hindi movie chronicles Manoj's life as a young boy from Chambal, who manages to become an IPS officer after years of hard work and dedication.
For the unversed, Vikrant Massey began his acting journey in the television industry. His breakthrough came with the hit TV show ‘Balika Vadhu’. Transitioning to films, he showcased his talent in movies like ‘A Death in the Gunj’, ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ and ‘Love Hostel’.
He became a household name with his roles in ‘Mirzapur’, ‘Criminal Justice’ and ‘Chhapaak’.
