Payal Kapadia's 'All We Imagine As Light' had its screening at Cannes Film Festival on Thursday.

The Cannes Film Festival 2024 has turned out to be a proud moment for India. In the latest entertainment news, Indian director Payal Kapadia and her film 'All We Imagine As Light's team was seen dancing their way to the Cannes Film Festival screening on Thursday evening. For the unversed, 'All We Imagine As Light' is the first Indian film to be competing for the Palme d'Or award at the prestigious festival, in 30 years. 

The cast and crew of the film were all smiles on the red carpet. Everyone involved with the project struck different poses, and then they were seen dancing on the red carpet, and this caught everyone's attention.

For the unversed, 'All We Imagine As Light' stars Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam and Hridhu Haroon.

The official synopsis of the film reads, "In Mumbai, Nurse Prabha's daily routine is disrupted when she receives an unexpected gift from her estranged husband. Meanwhile, her younger roommate, Anu, struggles to find a private place in the city to be intimate with her boyfriend. A getaway to a beach town provides them with the opportunity to fulfil their desires in a secluded setting."

Earlier, Malayalam film 'Swaham' had competed for the Palme d'Or way back in 1994. 

The winner of the prestigious award will be announced on May 25. 

India has already registered a major triumph at the ongoing 77th Cannes Film Festival. Chidananda S Naik’s 'Sunflowers Were the First Ones to Know…' won the first prize of La Cinef on Thursday.

The movie is based on a Kannada folk tale about an old woman who ends up stealing a rooster.

The third prize of the La Cinef competition was bagged by Mansi Maheshwari’s animation film 'Bunnyhood'.

For the unversed, the Cannes Film Festival awards a 15,000 euro grant for the first prize winner, 11,250 euros for the runner-ups and 7,500 euros for the third prize recipient, as reported by Indian Express.
