Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk-starrer 'Bad Newz' is based on biological phenomenon called heteropaternal superfecundation.

Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk-starrer 'Bad Newz', has finally been released in cinemas, and the new Hindi film has opened to mixed reviews from critics, but the audience reaction on social media is on the positive side, and it is looking likely that the new Hindi film will emerge as a box office hit. For the unversed, 'Bad Newz' is based on a biological phenomenon called heteropaternal superfecundation. But did you know that the film's biggest plot point has actually happened in real life? In 2022, a 19-year-old Brazilian woman ended up giving birth to twins who had two different biological fathers, and this medical condition, called heteropaternal superfecundation, was all over the news.
As per Daily Mail, the 19-year-old woman hailing from Minerios in Goias, Brazil, revealed that she took a paternity test as she wanted to confirm who the father was. She said that she took the paternity test using the sample of the person she had thought was the father.
As per the report, after the test, she found out that only one of her kids showed positive for the DNA test while the other one did not. The same report states that after the DNA test, she remembered having intercourse with another man on the same day, whose DNA then eventually matched with the second twin.
This medical condition is quite common in dogs, cats, and cows, as per The Guardian.
As per several news reports, this phenomenon happens when a woman releases two eggs at the same time or a few days apart in the same reproductive cycle and is sexually involved with multiple partners.
According to The Indian Express, around 25 such cases have been reported around the world. In 1982, twins were born with two different skin colours, and it was later discovered that they were conceived as a result of heteroparental superfecundation. Similar cases have been reported in 1995, 2001, 2008, 2015, 2016, and 2019.
Coming back to 'Bad Newz', the upcoming Hindi film has been directed by Anand Tiwari and it has been jointly bankrolled by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bindra, and Tiwari.
Vicky Kaushal was last seen in 'Sam Bahadur', while Triptii Dimri gained a lot of fans after starring in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 'Animal'.
For the unversed, 'Animal' and 'Sam Bahadur' were released on the same date. Both the films turned out to be success stories at the box office. However, it was Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' that collected more than Rs 500 crore in India.
