Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri's 'Bad Newz' Remains Steady, Nears Rs 40 Crore Mark

'Bad Newz', starring Vicky Kaushal, Ammy Virk and Triptii Dimri, is maintaining a steady pace at the box office. And the new Hindi movie registered a bigger haul on Tuesday, as compared to Monday. The Day 5 collection holds the film in good stead, and it looks likely that 'Bad Newz' will breach the Rs 50 crore mark, despite the release of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starrer 'Deadpool & Wolverine' later this week. For the unversed, 'Bad Newz' makers had announced a BOGO (buy one get one) offer on Monday.

As per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Bad Newz' minted Rs 3.65 crore on Tuesday, the fifth day of its release. The nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 36.85 crore.

On Tuesday, 'Bad Newz' had an overall 13.77 per cent Hindi occupancy. 

For the unversed, 'Bad Newz' became Vicky Kaushal's biggest opener of his career as it collected more money than 'URI: The Surgical Strike' on the opening day of its release.

For the unversed, 'Bad Newz' is based on a biological phenomenon called heteropaternal superfecundation.

Coming to Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira', which released in cinemas on July 12, minted Rs 0.35 crore on Tuesday, the 12th day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the new Hindi movie now stands at Rs 21.80 crore.

'Sarfira' was released in cinemas alongside Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2', directed by Shankar. The new Tamil film minted Rs 1.11 crore on Tuesday, the 12th day of its release, as per Sacnilk. The nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 78.06 crore, across all languages.

Coming to Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD', starring Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani, the pan-India film minted Rs 1.85 crore on Tuesday (27th day of its release), as per Sacnilk. The total domestic film collection now stands at Rs 620.35 crore. 'Kalki 2898 AD' now needs just Rs 19.65 crore to breach the domestic total of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan', which stands at Rs 640 crore. 

Lastly, speaking of Raghav Juyal and Lakshya's 'Kill', which has been backed by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga, minted Rs 0.40 crore on Tuesday (the 19th day of its release). As per Sacnilk, the total nett domestic collection of the film currently stands at Rs 20.90 crore.
