As per early projections, the new Hindi comedy film is likely to deliver a double-digit opening. In the latest entertainment news, 'Bad Newz' has already collected Rs 2.67 crore in its advance ticket sales, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. It is important to mention that this amount is higher than Akshay Kumar's Sarfira's opening day collection (Rs 2.50 crore). 'Bad Newz' can also emerge as Vicky Kaushal's biggest box office opener yet. For the unversed, the biggest opener of Vicky Kaushal's career so far has been 2019’s 'Uri: The Surgical Strike', which made Rs 8.20 crore on its opening day.
Vicky Kaushal's last release 'Sam Bahadur', which clashed against Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal', had made Rs 5.75 crore on the opening day while Vicky's 'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke' had made Rs 5.49 crore on the opening day.
As per Pinkvilla, 'Bad Newz' is poised to deliver a box office opening of Rs 9-10 crore, and the film is likely to register an opening weekend of more than Rs 30 crore.
For the unversed, 'Crew' had an opening weekend of Rs 32.60 crore while Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' minted Rs 26.52 crore.
Coming back to 'Bad Newz', the upcoming Hindi film has been directed by Anand Tiwari and it has been jointly bankrolled by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bindra and Tiwari.
Vicky Kaushal was last seen in 'Sam Bahadur', while Triptii Dimri gained a lot of fans after starring in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 'Animal'.
For the unversed, 'Animal' and 'Sam Bahadur' were released on the same date. Both the films turned out to be success stories at the box office. However, it was Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' that collected more than Rs 500 crore in India.
