The reel opened with a striking shot of Ananya in a deep maroon saree, adorned with intricate gold detailing and styled with a stone-encrusted necklace. With a dainty bindi and her hair pulled back in a sleek bun, she exuded a classic old Bollywood charm.
Transitioning from the intense maroon, we see glimpses of her in soft mint greens and breezy whites, often seen in a car or under the shade of a production tent. These looks suggest a more grounded, everyday side to Chandni.
One of the most intriguing frames shows Ananya wearing a white lab coat over a peach printed outfit, flashing a peace sign. This small detail has fans speculating about Chandni’s profession in the film.
Setting the mood for the montage is the hauntingly beautiful track ‘Aitbaar’, the second single from the film’s album. Composed by the powerhouse duo Sachin-Jigar and voiced by the soulful Faheem Abdullah, the song has already begun climbing the charts.
While the ‘Chand Mera Dil’ title track leaned into romanticism, ‘Aitbaar’ is a bruised ballad that captures the fragility of trust in a relationship. The lyrics, penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, provide a poignant backdrop to Ananya’s expressive faces – ranging from playful pouts and tongue-out selfies to contemplative, quiet stares into the camera.
"Aitbaar comes from an extremely honest and vulnerable emotional space," singer Faheem Abdullah recently shared about the track, and that vulnerability is mirrored perfectly in Ananya’s BTS snippets.
The video concluded on a sweet note – literally. A heart-shaped chocolate cake with the words “To our Chandni” written in white icing made an appearance, flanked by two red chocolate hearts. It served as a testament to the bond the cast and crew shared during the Jamshedpur schedule, which recently wrapped.
Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, ‘Chand Mera Dil’ marks the first theatrical outing for director Vivek Soni (of ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar’ fame). Ananya is paired opposite Lakshya, who is fresh off the buzz of his intense performance in ‘Kill’ and ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’.
The film is being touted as an "intense and passionate love story," a sentiment echoed by Karan Johar himself when he dubbed it a tale where one has to be "a little crazy in love." Mark your calendars for May 22, 2026. Originally slated for an April release, the film was moved to a prime summer slot, promising to be the definitive romantic experience of the season.
With the music already winning hearts and Ananya looking every bit the "Chandni" we didn't know we needed, the hype for ‘Chand Mera Dil’ is officially at an all-time high. Are you excited to see the chemistry between Ananya and Lakshya on the big screen?
