The first-look posters offer intriguing clues about the protagonists. Akshay’s character appears wearing a beanie with his eyes concealed, alongside the line, "Vengeance sees everything," suggesting a man driven by retribution. Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan’s poster captures him looking straight into the camera with the tagline, "Every sense is a weapon," hinting at a character who relies on instinct and precision.
The makers also unveiled individual character posters with contrasting visual palettes. While Akshay’s blood-red poster features him flashing a chilling smile as flames engulf a figure in a graveyard, Saif’s yellow-themed artwork presents him with a composed yet determined expression.
Another poster brings the two actors together, accompanied by an image of a child clutching a teddy bear – an element that appears to be significant in the film’s narrative.
Directed by Priyadarshan, 'Haiwaan' is produced by Venkat K Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn under the banners of KVN Productions and Thespian Films. The film also stars Boman Irani, Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar in key roles.
Earlier this year, writer Rohan Shankar spoke about adapting the 2016 Malayalam film ‘Oppam’ starring Mohanlal and Samuthirakani into ‘Haiwaan’. He said the biggest challenge with any adaptation is striking the right balance between staying faithful to the original while presenting a fresh experience for a new audience. According to him, Priyadarshan had a clear creative vision for reimagining the story.
Shankar also revealed that the screenplay underwent several changes to better suit the sensibilities of Hindi cinema and contemporary viewers.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar recently reunited with Priyadarshan for the horror-comedy 'Bhooth Bangla'. He was last seen in Ahmed Khan’s 'Welcome to the Jungle' and also has 'Golmaal 5' and several other projects in the pipeline.
Saif Ali Khan, meanwhile, was last seen in the Netflix film 'Kartavya', where he played a police officer. Besides ‘Haiwaan’, he is also gearing up for Rahul Dholakia’s 'Hum Hindustani'.
