“Misunderstood”: Prithvi Shaw's Fiancée Says After Cryptic “Cheated On” Deleted Post
Prithvi Shaw's fiancée Akriti Agarwal fuelled fresh speculation with a cryptic post after her viral cheating claims.
Just months after their dreamy engagement, trouble seems to be brewing in paradise for Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and his fiancée, actress and social media influencer Akriti Agarwal. The internet has been sent into a frenzy after Akriti Agarwal shared a series of cryptic Instagram Stories hinting at betrayal and cheating, leaving fans and followers questioning the status of their relationship. The speculation began over the weekend when a viral screenshot of an Instagram Story – which has since either expired or been deleted from Akriti Agarwal's account – surfaced online.
Without taking any names, the actress poured her heart out, writing, “I got cheated so many times, yet I never said a word. (heart break emoji) Still can't believe that after taking one step ahead …”
She further fuelled the fire by adding, “Everything is true every rumours is true. What you see on social media about him.”

As the screenshot circulated widely across social media platforms, fans immediately began linking the remarks to Prithvi Shaw. Just as the internet was dissecting her words, Akriti Agarwal followed up with a second, equally ambiguous Instagram Story. It simply read: “Misunderstood by many!”
She did not clarify whether she meant that people had misunderstood her previous post, or if she herself had been misunderstood in her relationship.
Despite the massive online buzz, neither Prithvi Shaw nor Akriti Agarwal has publicly addressed the rumours. Interestingly, the couple continues to follow each other on Instagram. Neither has removed photos or posts related to their engagement, and Akriti Agarwal still has happy memories with Prithvi Shaw pinned to her profile.
The cryptic posts stand in stark contrast to the couple's very public displays of affection earlier this year. After dating for a long time, the pair officially announced their engagement in March 2026 with a joint post.
Prithvi Shaw, clearly smitten, shared the news by writing, “From sixes on the field to a lifetime of hits off it. She's is my perfect innings! (trophy and heart emojis) #justengaged.” He followed this up in April with more pictures of Akriti Agarwal, captioning them, “Us, in our element.”
His most recent post about her was a gushing birthday tribute in May. “Happy birthday Akriti. No one will ever truly understand how much you mean to me…Through every high and every low, you stood by me, understood me, and never gave up on us. Thank you for choosing me, for loving me the way you do, and for being my partner in this crazy world,” he wrote, adding, “I don't say it enough, but I love you more than words can ever explain. Forever grateful… forever yours. In a world full of choices… I'd still choose you, every single time.”
Away from the personal drama, both individuals have had eventful professional years. Akriti Agarwal recently starred in the Telugu film ‘Trimukha’ (2026). Written and directed by Razesh Naidu, the movie was produced by Sridevi Maddali and Ramesh Maddali under Akhira Dream Creations. The project features an ensemble cast including Sunny Leone, Yogesh Kalle, Aditya Srivastav, Rajendran, and Suman.
Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw has been focusing on reviving his cricket career. Once hailed as one of India's brightest batting prospects after leading the country to the Under-19 World Cup title in 2018 and scoring a century on his Test debut that same year, Prithvi Shaw has recently endured a tough phase marked by fitness concerns and inconsistent form. While he was part of the Delhi Capitals squad for IPL 2026, he did not feature in a single match.
Despite the setbacks, Prithvi Shaw remains determined. Speaking recently on Star Sports about his ambitions to play for India again, he stated, “If I don't think about a comeback, then what's the point? That's why I am playing. Who doesn't want to play for India? You have to be there, and I am working towards that.”
He also touched upon his mental preparation, adding, “I enjoyed my life in the last year. Went to a couple of destinations to keep my mind fresh. Then I came back. The same routine, practised, worked hard, be it my training or batting. Whatever I used to do, I started doing it 3x more. I think it was a good break for me. I don't see it as a step back, but it was a needed break, so I get myself back stronger mentally.”
