"False Information": AB De Villiers' Shocking U-Turn On Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma Expecting Their 2nd Child
AB de Villiers has clarified that he shared "false information" regarding Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma expecting their second child, on his YouTube channel.
Former South Africa cricket captain AB de Villiers has made a stunning U-turn on his comments regarding Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma. For the unversed, last week AB de Villiers had said that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child, and now in the latest trending news, the former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter has clarified that he shared "false information" on his YouTube channel. “Family comes first it’s the priority as I said on my YouTube channel,” De Villers told Dainik Bhaskar.
“I made a terrible mistake at the same time, sharing false information, which was not true at all," he added.
AB de Villiers also said that no one really knows what's happening with Virat Kohli in his personal life, and no one knows why the Indian batter has taken a break from the ongoing Test series against England.
“I think whatever’s best for Virat’s family comes first. No one knows what’s happening there, all I can do is wish him well. Whatever the reason for his break, I hope he can comeback stronger, better and fresh from this," said AB de Villiers.
For the unversed, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma had tied the knot on December 11, 2017 at a grand wedding in Tuscany, Italy. The two are parents to daughter Vamika, whom they welcomed in January 2021.
Earlier, during an AMA session on YouTube, AB de Villiers, who shares a close bond with Kohli, had disclosed that Kohli and Anushka are expecting their second child.
"All I know is he is fine. He is spending a bit of time with his family, that is the reason he is missing the first two Test matches. I am not going to confirm anything else. I cannot wait to see him back. He is fine, he is doing well," the former Royal Challengers Bangalore batter said.
"Let me just see what he said. I just want to at least give you a little bit of love. So, I wrote to him 'Been wanting to check in with you for a while now biscuits. How are you?'. He said 'Just need to be with my family right now. I am doing well'. Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it's family time and things are important to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people's priority is family. You can't judge Virat for that," he added.
Initially, Virat Kohli was named in the Indian squad for the first two Tests against England, however, just days ahead of the first match, the cricketer decided to pull out.
As of now, it is not known whether Virat Kohli would be available for the remaining three Tests against England or not.
On the work front, Anushka Sharma will next be seen in Netflix film 'Chakda Xpress', in which she will be essaying the life of former India woman cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
