Harbhajan Singh Slammed For "Cricket Ke Baare Me Kitni Samajh Hogi" Remark On Anushka Sharma, Athiya Shetty

Harbhajan Singh is being slammed on social media for his controversial comments on Anushka Sharma and Athiya Shetty. Many fans have labelled his comments as "sexist".

Harbhajan Singh is being slammed on social media for his controversial comments on Anushka Sharma and Athiya Shetty.

The Cricket World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia was attended many celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Asha Bhosle, among others. Anushka Sharma and Athiya Shetty, who are the wives of cricketers Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were also in attendance for the match, however, everyone was left disappointed, as Team India faced a six-wicket loss in the final played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

However, amidst the loss, former cricketer Harbhajan Singh is being slammed on social media for his controversial comments on Anushka Sharma and Athiya Shetty. Many fans have labelled his comments as "sexist".

When the footage showed Anushka Sharma and Athiya Shetty talking to each other, Harbhajan Singh said that he does not know how much knowledge these two ladies would be having about cricket. 

"Yahi main soch raha tha ki baat cricket ki ho rahi hai ya films ki? Me janta nahi ki cricket ke baare me kitni samajh hogi," Harbhajan Singh said while doing the Hindi commentary for the final.

"What do you mean that the ladies understand cricket or not?? Please apologise immediately," wrote one user.

"Typical sexist mindset," wrote another user.

“Typical Harbhajan Singh L. Disgrace as a person. Filmo ki baat ho rahi hogi ya cricket ki- Pata nahi cricket ki kitni samaj hogi. Pathetic," wrote another user.

"the commentator just said "yeh baatein bhi pata nahi kya hori hogi because cricket ki toh pata nahi kitni samajh hogi" when anushka and athiya were shown on screen chatting and it's the most disgusting thing I have ever heard," wrote one user.

Anushka Sharma's husband Virat Kohli was adjudged as Player of the Tournament, as he ended the tournament with 765 runs.

In the final, KL Rahul also played a knock of 66 runs, but his innings did not prove to be enough. 

Talking about the final, Team India were asked to bat first and the side was bundled out for 240. 

Australia then chased down the target in 43 overs with six wickets in hand. Travis Head was named as Player of the Match for his knock of 137 runs off just 120 balls.
