‘Spirit’ First Look: Prabhas Sports Bruised Avatar As Triptii Dimri Lights His Cigarette
Prabhas’ raw and brooding first look from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Spirit’ sets the tone for a dark, intense and much-awaited release.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga has done it again. Just as the world rang in 2026, the ‘Animal’ director stayed true to his tradition of midnight surprises by dropping the highly anticipated first-look poster of his next big venture, ‘Spirit’. Starring the ‘Rebel Star’ Prabhas, the poster has already sent social media into a frenzy, promising a cinematic experience that is raw, gritty, and characteristically Vanga. Triptii Dimri, who also features in the poster, shared it with the caption, “Kicking off the New Year with the first poster of #Spirit.”
Check out the first look poster of ‘Spirit’ here:
The poster offered a stark, moody glimpse into the world of ‘Spirit’. Prabhas appeared in a rough and tough avatar that had fans screaming "Darling is back!" Standing shirtless with his back to the camera, the actor sported a thick beard, a moustache, and the return of his iconic long hair.
The imagery was visceral – his body was covered in visible cuts, bruises, and bandages across his shoulders and arms, suggesting a protagonist shaped by relentless violence. Clad in white trousers with liquor in one hand and a cigarette between his lips, Prabhas looked every bit the “Spirit” of a man pushed to the edge.
Adding to the intrigue was Triptii Dimri. In the poster, Triptii can be seen in a simple, muted-toned saree, calmly lighting Prabhas’ cigarette. While her expression is focused and quiet, the chemistry between the two hints at an intense, layered relationship. Triptii notably stepped into the role after Deepika Padukone reportedly exited the project last year due to scheduling conflicts regarding work hours.
The timing and aesthetic of the reveal haven't gone unnoticed. Much like the announcement of ‘Animal’ (2023), Sandeep Reddy Vanga chose the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Day to unveil this look.
While fans celebrated Prabhas’ physical transformation – calling the poster a "banger" and predicting a "blockbuster" – many netizens drew parallels to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s previous hits, ‘Animal’ and ‘Kabir Singh’. The blend of vices, violence, and a brooding protagonist has become the director’s undeniable signature.
Alongside Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, the film boasts a powerhouse ensemble including Vivek Oberoi, Prakash Raj, and Kanchana. While details are under wraps, Prabhas is rumoured to be playing a cop, with Triptii as his love interest.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Pranay Reddy Vanga, the film is aiming for a massive global footprint. Plans are reportedly in place to release Spirit in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, as well as international markets like Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean.
Following the audio teaser released on Prabhas’ 46th birthday, ‘Spirit’ is officially slated for a 2026 release.
With the first poster already trending, the countdown to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next dark masterpiece has officially begun.
