It is fair to say that Prabhas is the biggest pan-India star currently. The superstar has the knack of delivering blockbuster openings, and his latest release 'Kalki 2898 AD' is no different. The Nag Ashwin directorial, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani, released in cinemas worldwide on Thursday, and if the early reviews are anything to go by, then the movie is headed towards being a blockbuster of epic proportions. In the latest entertainment news, several pictures and videos from theatres around the country are going viral. There is a complete fan frenzy, with cinephiles bursting firecrackers. 

One can also see a giant Prabhas cutout in front of a cinema, with fans celebrating wildly.

'Kalki 2898 AD' is receiving immense praise on social media, with several users hailing the second half and climax. Fans are also loving the epic fight scene between the characters of Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan.

Actor Nani also took to social media to praise the film. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Nani wrote, "Internationally slick content oriented mythological futuristic sci fi mass Indian film from the Telugu land eppudaina chusara ? Go watch #Kalki2898AD. Proud of what Nagi, Prabhas anna, vyjayanthi movies and other stellar starcast had pulled off."

Directed by Nag Ashwin, 'Kalki 2898 AD' is set in a dystopian future where certain sections of the society are struggling for basic amenities while the top one percent of the population is getting to live the dream in a place called Complex. 

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has sold 20,93,904 tickets for the opening day of its release, grossing Rs 55.11 crore across all languages. With this, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has now achieved the fourth spot in the list for the biggest advance bookings for an Indian film after ‘Baahubali 2’, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, and ‘RRR’.

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has also recorded the biggest advance booking for any Indian film in 2024, going past Mahesh Babu and Sreeleela's ‘Guntur Kaaram’, which released in cinemas in January.
