Watch: Rekha Blesses Amitabh Bachchan's Grandson, Gives Flying Kiss To Agastya Nanda's Poster At 'Ikkis' Premiere
Rekha attended the special screening of 'Ikkis', starring Agastya Nanda and the late Dharmendra.
The new year will begin with some movie fervour as Sriram Raghavan's 'Ikkis' starring Agastya Nanda is set to hit the theatres on January 1, 2026. The Hindi film was earlier slated to release in cinemas on Christmas. But the producers, Maddock Films, decided to push back the theatrical release by one week. Recently, the makers held a special screening of the project in memory of late actor Dharmendra, who is essaying the role of Arjun Khetarpal’s father in the film.
Arjun Khetarpal is being played by Agastya in the war-drama epic. It is worth mentioning that Arjun was martyred in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War. The screening of the film was attended by Rekha as well. When she made her way to the red carpet, the paparazzi captured her getting emotional on seeing the huge poster of Agastya.
Rekha then approached the poster and gave Agastya a flying kiss, seemingly blessing him ahead of the release of his theatrical debut. She then also posed for the shutterbugs before entering the venue.

A moment filled with warmth and affection as Rekha blesses her most beloved Agastya Nanda at the special screening of Ikkis. Rekha wore dark glasses to quietly veil her emotions — a rare sight at such events, as she usually keeps her expressive eyes uncovered.#yogenshah pic.twitter.com/L21xIxoidi

Agastya's grandfather, Amitabh Bachchan, also attended the premiere, and he had high praise for the young actor, who earlier made his acting debut with Zoya Akhtar's 'The Archies'.
“Emotions flow.. As do they tonight when you witness the grandson excel in IKKIS .. the time when his Mother, Shweta is being rushed to Breach Candy Hospital as she encounters final labour pains .. his birth .. holding him barely a few hours later, and discussing whether his eyes were blue .. to the time when he grew a bit and holding him in my arms, and he fiddles with my beard .. to his growth .. to the final personal decision of his to be an actor, and tonight to see him in frame, unable to take my eyes off each time he fills the frames of the film," Big B wrote on his blog.
For the unversed, 'Ikkis' has been produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films. Apart from Agastya and the late Dharmendra, the film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Akshay Kumar’s niece Simar Bhatia. The project will also mark the theatrical debut of Simar.
Returning to Rekha, she had a long-standing working relationship with Amitabh Bachchan. The duo starred in several movies together, including the hugely popular 'Silsila', which also featured Jaya Bachchan in a key role. The film was based on the story of an extramarital affair.
