In a development that has caught the attention of fans and industry insiders alike, actor Vivek Oberoi has openly backed superstar Salman Khan’s recent fiery stance against internet trolls. This unexpected show of support comes on the heels of Salman’s explosive outburst during the latest ‘Bigg Boss 20’ Weekend Ka Vaar episode, where he ruthlessly called out the toxic culture of online age-shaming and body-shaming.

On Tuesday, Vivek Oberoi was spotted spending time with children battling cancer at a charity event organised by the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA). It was during this noble outing that he was asked by Bollywood Chronicle about his thoughts on Salman’s bold takedown of online haters.
Choosing to side with his former rival, Vivek gave a clear and supportive response. He stated: “Kuch nahi yaar, mujhe lagta hai trolling wagera karna bhi nahi chahiye. Trolling is a very negative thing, and there are a lot of positive things to do in life kya negative mein padhe ho.”

For the uninitiated, the conversation stems from Salman Khan's massive outrage during ‘Bigg Boss 20’. The host expressed anger over the constant mockery celebrities face regarding their looks. Salman revealed that he has been a personal victim of this toxicity, being called a "budha" and mocked for his new bald look. He clarified that his bald aesthetic was for an upcoming film and was also emotionally linked to the recent passing of a close friend. Refusing to take the body-shaming lightly, the actor fired back at trolls by removing his T-shirt on national television to show off his toned physique. He didn't mince his words, slamming the trolls as "parasites" who make money by putting others down.
Salman’s defense extended beyond himself. He fiercely protected actress Katrina Kaif from trolls who targeted her over her post-pregnancy weight gain. Setting the record straight, Salman said, "Everyone puts on weight after getting pregnant. When she returns to films, she will get back in shape. She wants to spend time with her family."
Salman’s unyielding attitude won him cheers from several industry colleagues, including Varun Dhawan, Neha Dhupia, and filmmaker Rohit Shetty.
What makes Vivek’s support so headline-worthy is the well-documented, decades-old feud between the two actors. On the professional front, Vivek Oberoi is gearing up for a monumental project. He will next be seen in director Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated two-part epic, ‘Ramayana’. Mounted on a staggering budget of Rs 4,000 crore, the film boasts a massive ensemble cast. It stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and Yash as Ravana, along with Lara Dutta, Sheeba Chaddha, and others in key roles.
The first part is scheduled to release in theatres on Diwali 2026, while the second part is slated for Diwali 2027.
