Rumours of Tamil superstar Dhanush joining 'Avengers: Doomsday' have sent the internet into a meltdown.

The rumours mills are rife that Tamil superstar Dhanush is in talks with Russo Brothers to star in the upcoming 'Avengers: Doomsday'. In the latest entertainment news, neither Dhanush nor the Russo Brothers have made any announcement, yet the actor's fans are speculating that Dhanush would be making an appearance in the upcoming Marvel film, which will also star Robert Downey Jr as Dr Doom. For the unversed, Dhanush has previously collaborated with the Russo Brothers for their Netflix film 'The Gray Man'. The actor, who was last seen in 'Raayan', was also praised for his work in the Hollywood film.

Fans are now speculating whether they will get to see Dhanush in 'Avengers: Doomsday'

Here are some of the fan reactions:

For the uninitiated, The Russo Brothers -- Joe and Anthony, will be making a comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the director duo, will be helming 'Avengers: Doomsday', slated to release in 2026.

Robert Downey Jr will also be making a comeback to the franchise. He will be playing the role of main antagonist Doctor Doom. The actor had previously played Iron Man in the MCU.

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige and Robert Downey Jr had confirmed the news at San Diego Comic-Con 2024. The 'Oppenheimer' actor went to Hall H at the SDCC and then unveiled himself as Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom on stage.

“If we’re going to bring Doctor Doom to the screen — he is one of the most complex characters, most entertaining characters in all of fiction,” Anthony Russo said, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

“If we’re going to do this … then we are going to need the greatest actor in the world," he added.
