'Sinners' and 'One Battle After Another' dominated the Oscars 2026, with the bulk of the awards going to these two uber-popular Hollywood projects. Michael B Jordon took the Best Actor accolade for his power-packed performance in Ryan Coogler's 'Sinners'. The Best Director accolade went to Paul Thomas Anderson for 'One Battle After Another', starring Sean Penn and Leonardo DiCaprio. As one expected, the Best Actress award was handed out to Jessie Buckley for her outstanding job in 'Hamnet'. On the other hand, the Best Film, the biggest award of the night, was given to 'One Battle After Another'.

Coogler's vampire drama 'Sinners' entered the 2026 Oscars as the most-nominated film in history, earning 16 nods. On the other hand, 'One Battle After Another' earned 13 nominations. The Oscars 2026 also introduced a new category that recognised casting directors. Conan O'Brien hosted the ceremony for the second year in a row.
