The promo flawlessly captures the unsettling tone of the film and proves that Kriti and Varun can master intense psychological horror just as well as comedy.

The video begins with the two stars seated in a dimly lit restaurant, seemingly enjoying a romantic dinner. Kriti, portraying the role of Nikki, smiles sweetly and slides a red velvet box across the table to Varun, who plays Bear. “Main tumhare liye kuch layi hu,” she says. As Varun opens it, Kriti casually remarks, “Tiger's eye hai. Mom ki thi. Now it's yours.”
However, the mood quickly takes a dark turn when Kriti chillingly adds, “Yeh gift nahi hai. It's a piece of my heart,” explaining that she is giving it to him because she loves him "so, so, so, so much". A visibly disturbed Varun attempts to gently pull back, nervously suggesting, "I think humein break lena chahiye.”
What follows is an absolute masterclass in unhinged tension. Kriti's initially sweet demeanour shatters. She repeatedly murmurs "No," her voice rising in panic and hysteria, before screaming, "This is what you wanted!". She violently smashes a glass on the table, leaving Varun splattered with what looks like wine, as she screams at the top of her lungs, "Why don't you love me?!". Terrified for his life, Varun immediately backtracks, stuttering, "Mazak kar raha tha... I love you".
In a split-second, Kriti snaps back to her calm, affectionate self with a simple, emotionless "Okay". She slides into Varun's side of the booth, hugging a terrified Varun, whispering, "I love you, Bear". The promo ends with the ominous tagline: ‘Be Careful What You Wish For’.
This promotional clip serves as a perfect introduction to the gripping plot of ‘Obsession’, directed by Curry Barker. The global hit follows Bear (originally played by Michael Johnston), a young man who uses the supernatural "One Wish Willow" to make his colleague Nikki (Inde Navarrette) fall in love with him. The wish works, but Nikki's affection transforms into a violent, obsessive, and terrifying fixation, proving that getting exactly what you want can have deadly consequences.
Having grossed an impressive USD 522 million worldwide, ‘Obsession’ has been widely praised for its modern take on unrequited love and horror.
Fans can now experience Kriti and Varun's intense voice performances, guided by Amar Kaushik, when ‘Obsession: The Original Uncut Version’ premieres exclusively on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar on October 30 at 7 PM.
