Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Stree 2’ Goes Past ‘KGF: Chapter 2’
‘Stree 2’ is on a money-making spree at the box office, and has now even gone past the Hindi version of ‘KGF: Chapter 2’.
Amar Kaushik's new directorial venture 'Stree 2', starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, is on a money-making spree. The new Hindi movie is setting new benchmarks with each passing day. 'Stree 2' has now gone past the lifetime Hindi language collection of Yash's uber-popular film 'KGF: Chapter 2'. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, 'Stree 2' witnessed its first major dip in collections on Wednesday, the 14th day of its release. On Wednesday, 'Stree 2' earned Rs 10.40 crore.
The total nett domestic collection of 'Stree 2' now stands at Rs 444.50 crore.
"#Stree2 continues to exhibit a rock-steady trend, with a minimal decline on its [second] Wed compared to Tue... This solid hold on weekdays - especially after a string of holidays - suggests that the film is poised for an impressive Weekend 3," Taran Adarsh wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
"[Week 2] Fri 19.30 cr, Sat 33.80 cr, Sun 40.75 cr, Mon 20.20 cr, Tue 12.25 cr, Wed 10.40 cr. Total: ₹ 444.50 cr. #India biz. #Boxoffice," he added.
For the unversed, 'KGF: Chapter 2' had minted Rs 435 crore in Hindi. As a result, 'Stree 2' has now become the sixth highest-grossing Hindi film of all time in India.
Globally, 'Stree 2' has gone past the Rs 600 crore mark. It is expected that 'Stree 2' will go past the Rs 500 crore mark in India by the end of this week.
It now remains to be seen whether 'Stree 2' manages to go past the lifetime collection of Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal', SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali 2', Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' and ‘Jawan’, and Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2'.
'Stree 2' is now the biggest hit of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's careers.
For the unversed, 'Stree 2' also features cameos by Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar, and Tamannaah Bhatia.
As per Pinkvilla, 'Stree 2' has been mounted on a budget of Rs 120 crore.
