Jr NTR's 'Devara: Part 1' Fails Monday Test, Witnesses Huge Drop In Collection
'Devara: Part 1' witnessed a huge drop in collection on its first Monday, and the road ahead for the film seems rocky now.
'Devara: Part 1', directed by Koratala Siva and starring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, registered a solid opening weekend. It minted more than Rs 150 crore at the domestic box office. However, the new pan-India film witnessed a huge drop in collection on its first Monday. And the road ahead for the film seems rocky now. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Devara: Part 1' earned Rs 12.50 crore on Monday, the fourth day of its release.
The nett domestic collection of 'Devara' now stands at Rs 173.10 crore in India, across all languages. On Monday, 'Devara' had an occupancy of 26.91 per cent in the Telugu language, while the Hindi language had an occupancy of 12.73 per cent.
Out of this Rs 173.10 crore, the Telugu version has contributed Rs 136.50 crore, while the Hindi version has accumulated Rs 31 crore, so far. Now it remains to be seen whether 'Devara' witnesses an increase in collection on Wednesday, October 2, considering it's a national holiday owing to Gandhi Jayanti.
For the unversed, 'Devara’ earned Rs 82.50 crore on the opening day of its release. On Saturday and Sunday, the film earned Rs 38.20 crore and Rs 39.90 crore, respectively.
As per the makers, the film has so far made more than Rs 300 crore at the worldwide box office.
For the unversed, 'Devara: Part 1' marks the Telugu film debut of Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. It is also Jr NTR's first film after the blockbuster success of 'RRR', co-starring Ram Charan and directed by SS Rajamouli.
The Telugu movie also stars Shine Tom Chacko, Prakash Raj, Jisshu Sengupta, Srikanth, Narine and Murali Sharma.
The magnum opus is produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts and presented by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram.
Meanwhile, Jr NTR will next be seen in 'War 2', alongside Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani. The next chapter in the YRF Spy Universe is being directed by Ayan Mukerji, and it is slated to release in cinemas on Independence Day 2025.
