Koratala Siva's 'Devara: Part 1', starring Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor, finally released in cinemas on September 27, and fans have shown immense love for 'Man of Masses' at the ticket counters on Day 1. In the latest entertainment news, 'Devara' has emerged as the second-biggest Indian opener of 2024 after Prabhas' 'Kalki 2898 AD'. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Devara' minted Rs 77 crore, across all languages, on the opening day of its release. 

Out of this Rs 77 crore, Rs 68.60 crore came from the Telugu version, while the Hindi version also contributed Rs 7 crore. The Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam versions underperformed on Day 1. 

Directed by Koratala Siva, 'Devara' witnessed an overall occupancy of 79.56 per cent in Telugu. In Hindi, the film had an occupancy of 18.37 per cent on Day 1. 

Globally, 'Devara' is expected to cross Rs 140 crore mark on the opening day of its release. For the unversed, 'Devara' is Jr NTR's first release after the 2022 smash-hit 'RRR', directed by SS Rajamouli. 

'RRR', which also stars Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan and Ajay Devgn, had minted Rs 133 crore nett on the opening day of its release. 

Coming back to 'Devara', now it needs to be seen whether the film manages to register growth over the weekend. The business of the film will also witness a spike on October 2, owing to a national holiday due to Gandhi Jayanti. 

As per Variety, 'Devara' earned USD 3.5 million in worldwide ticket pre-sales. The Thursday world premiere at Hollywood’s Egyptian Theatre sold out its 516 seats in just nine minutes, as per the producers. 

In the US, the film has earned USD 2.5 million in ticket pre-sales for its September 27 release. 

For the unversed, 'Devara: Part 1' marks the Telugu film debut of Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. It is also Jr NTR's first film after the blockbuster success of 'RRR', directed by SS Rajamouli.

The upcoming Telugu movie also stars Shine Tom Chacko, Prakash Raj, Jisshu Sengupta, Srikanth, Narine and Murali Sharma.

The magnum opus is produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts and presented by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram.
