Koratala Siva’s ‘Devara: Part 1’, starring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, is wreaking havoc at the box office. The new pan-India film, which released in cinemas on Friday, September 27, has gone past the Rs 150 crore mark in India in just three days. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Devara’ minted Rs 40.30 crore on Sunday, the third day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the new Telugu film now stands at Rs 161 crore in India.

The Telugu version of ‘Devara’ has collected Rs 128.45 crore in India so far, while the Hindi version has earned Rs 27.50 crore. On Sunday, ‘Devara’ had an overall occupancy of 65.35 per cent.

Worldwide, ‘Devara: Part 1’ has gone past the Rs 200 crore mark as per the makers. It remains to be seen whether ‘Devara’ emerges as the second Indian film of 2024 to go past the Rs 1,000 crore mark worldwide after Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan-starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.

For the unversed, ‘Devara: Part 1’ has become second biggest opener in Indian cinema this year after Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, co-starring Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani.

Coming back to ‘Devara’, now it remains to be seen whether the film manages to go past the Rs 250 crore mark in India. The business of the film will also witness a spike on October 2, owing to a national holiday due to Gandhi Jayanti.

As per Variety, 'Devara' earned USD 3.5 million in worldwide ticket pre-sales. The Thursday world premiere at Hollywood’s Egyptian Theatre sold out its 516 seats in just nine minutes, as per the producers.

In the US, the film had earned USD 2.5 million in ticket pre-sales for its September 27 release.

For the unversed, 'Devara: Part 1' marks the Telugu film debut of Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. It is also Jr NTR's first film after the blockbuster success of 'RRR', co-starring Ram Charan and directed by SS Rajamouli.

The Telugu movie also stars Shine Tom Chacko, Prakash Raj, Jisshu Sengupta, Srikanth, Narine and Murali Sharma.

The magnum opus is produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts and presented by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram.
