‘Dhurandhar 2’ Poised For Record-Breaking Start, Grosses More Than Rs 60 Crore Worldwide In Advance Booking

'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' is all set for an earth-shattering start worldwide.

Aditya Dhar's 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' is all set for a historic start at the box office. The Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt-starrer has already sold more than 4.5 lakh tickets for the paid previews in India. The full advance sales are yet to begin as tickets are available for just the shows on Wednesday, March 18, beginning 5 PM IST. The film's euphoria is not just restricted to India as the bookings are going through the roof in USA and Canada as well. According to Hindustan Times, the film has already earned more than Rs 60 crore worldwide before its first show.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' has sold 4,92,287 tickets for the paid previews so far, grossing a whopping Rs 25.08 crore. If the blocked seats are also taken into consideration, then the number swells up to Rs 29.98 crore. Looking at this data, it is safe to say that the film will definitely be earning more than Rs 100 crore on the opening day as Day 1 numbers will be inclusive of paid previews, which are estimated to be around Rs 40 crore.

The spy actioner has earned around USD 3 million in North America during the opening weekend, including close to USD 1 million from the premiere alone, according to Hindustan Times.

Speaking of 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge', the film also stars  R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. There are rumours that Yami Gautam will be having a special cameo in the project. The film is slated to release in theatres on March 19, with paid previews scheduled for March 18, beginning 5 PM IST.

Earlier, director Aditya Dhar, who celebrated his birthday on Thursday, revealed that he was applying finishing touches to the film on the big day, as he doesn't want to leave anything to chance.

In his note, he wrote, "As I spend my birthday adding the final touches on Dhurandhar The Revenge, I find myself pausing for a moment and looking back at the phenomenal year that has gone by. Sitting here today I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. For the journey. For the team who has always walked besides me. And for the faith so many of you have shown in my work over the years.”

“Reading all your messages, tweets, stories, and all the ‘peak detailing by Aditya Dhar memes’, my heart is full. I wish I could personally respond to each one of you but please know how deeply I value all your love and encouragement. I truly feel blessed beyond belief. None of this is something I take for granted. In an industry where nothing is guaranteed and every film is a leap of faith, the trust of the audience means everything," he added.

'Dhurandhar' was a major theatrical success, earning more than Rs 1,300 crore worldwide. The film also became the highest-grossing Hindi-language project in India, with a collection of more than Rs 850 crore.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the action thriller promises a deeper exploration of Jaskirat Singh Rangi’s (Ranveer) personal journey in 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' while focusing on his high-stakes confrontation with the primary antagonist, ISI agent Major Iqbal, essayed by Arjun Rampal.

The film has been produced by Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar under their banner B62 Studios, along with Jyoti Deshpande-led Jio Studios.
