‘Dhurandhar 2’ Advance Booking: Ranveer Singh’s Film Earns Rs 18 Cr, Beats ‘Stree 2’ To Become Bollywood’s Biggest Premiere
‘Dhurandhar 2’ advance booking: Aditya Dhar's spy thriller, starring Ranveer Singh, has already earned over Rs 18 crore days before its release on March 19 through paid previews alone.
The makers of ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ are already riding a massive wave of excitement after dropping the film’s trailer last Saturday. To capitalise on the buzz, they strategically opened advance booking for the film’s paid previews on Wednesday, March 18, the same day the trailer was released. The move immediately triggered a rush among fans eager to secure early tickets and claim bragging rights for watching the highly anticipated sequel ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on March 19.

Even with several days left before its theatrical debut, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is already showing impressive box office momentum. Early advance booking figures suggest the sequel is heading toward a strong opening. Industry watchers are now wondering whether it can break the current paid-preview record of Rs 25 crore, which is held by ‘OG’.
According to data reported by Sacnilk, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has already earned around Rs 12.29 crore in advance bookings across all languages in India. When blocked seats are factored in, the figure rises significantly to approximately Rs 18.1 crore.
The Hindi version is driving the majority of these numbers, contributing more than Rs 12.07 crore so far. Meanwhile, bookings in southern markets – including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam – are currently lower but are expected to grow steadily as the release date approaches and anticipation builds further.

With nine days still remaining before its paid previews, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has already achieved the biggest Bollywood premiere ever. It has surpassed the previous record held by Amar Kaushik’s 2024 horror-comedy ‘Stree 2’, which starred Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor and had earned Rs 8.50 crore gross (around Rs 10 crore net) from advance sales for its paid previews. Notably, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ crossed that milestone within less than 24 hours of advance booking opening.
Trade analysts believe the film’s domestic box office numbers could climb sharply over the next 10 days as the release date draws closer and the buzz continues to grow. The collections are also expected to receive another major boost once advance booking for the opening weekend begins. Even at this stage, the film’s current advance booking figure of around Rs 18 crore already exceeds the lifetime domestic box office collections of many Hindi films released this year.
In fact, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has already emerged as the sixth highest-grossing Hindi film at the domestic box office this year. It currently trails behind Sunny Deol’s ‘Border 2’ (Rs 361.79 crore), Shahid Kapoor’s ‘O Romeo’ (Rs 79.26 crore), Rani Mukerji’s ‘Mardaani 3’ (Rs 51.62 crore), Agastya Nanda’s ‘Ikkis’ (Rs 36.25 crore), and Vipul Shah-produced ‘The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond’ (Rs 25.40 crore).
At the same time, it has already outperformed several other releases, including Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur’s ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’ (Rs 7.39 crore), Taapsee Pannu’s ‘Assi’ (Rs 9.83 crore), and Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor’s ‘Tu Yaa Main’ (Rs 6.90 crore).
The film is also benefitting from the phenomenal success of its predecessor. Earlier this year, the first ‘Dhurandhar’ shattered records by becoming the highest-grossing Indian film ever at the domestic box office, collecting more than Rs 890 crore. Globally, it went on to become the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of all time with a worldwide total exceeding Rs 1300 crore.
Internationally, the sequel is also generating strong traction. The Sacnilk report highlights impressive overseas demand, particularly in North America. For the USA premiere shows alone, the film has already sold over 38,500 tickets across 557 locations, earning USD 618,911 (approximately Rs 5.15 crore). With such strong domestic and overseas trends, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ appears well-positioned to challenge existing paid-preview records.
The story of ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ continues the journey of undercover RAW agent Jaskirat Singh Rangi. In the sequel, the agent infiltrates the Karachi underworld to dismantle a major terror network following the death of Rahman Dakait. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the action thriller promises a deeper exploration of Rangi’s personal journey while focusing on his high-stakes confrontation with the primary antagonist, ISI agent Major Iqbal.
The film is set to release on March 19 in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Produced by Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar under their banner B62 Studios along with Jyoti Deshpande-led Jio Studios, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ features a strong ensemble cast. Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi will all reprise their roles from the first installment, which was released in cinemas this past December.
