‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Passes Monday Test With Flying Colours, Nears Rs 75 Crore Mark

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, has passed the Monday test with flying colours. There is no stopping the latest installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). After minting Rs 66.15 crore in its opening weekend, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ earned Rs 7 crore on Monday, the fourth day of its release. And as a result, the total four-day nett collection in India now stands at Rs 73.65 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.
For the unversed, the Shawn Levy directorial opened at Rs 21 crore on its first day, and then it earned more than Rs 22 crore on days two and three. As a result, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ delivered one of the top 10 biggest Hollywood openings in India.
As per Deadline, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has earned around USD 440 million (Rs 3,600 crore) worldwide in its first weekend, which is the biggest debut for an R-rated movie in history.
'Deadpool & Wolverine' also stars Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, and Morena Baccarin in important roles. The film also features some star-studded cameos.
Dhanush's new Tamil film 'Raayan' was also released in cinemas on Friday (July 26), and as per Sacnilk, the newly-released film earned Rs 5.25 crore on Monday, the fourth day of its release. The four-day total of the film now stands at Rs 47.90 crore.
Coming to Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk-starrer 'Bad Newz', released in cinemas on July 19, earned Rs 1.15 crore on Monday, the eleventh day of its release. The film's domestic collection now stands at Rs 53.15 crore.
Coming to Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD', starring Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani, the pan-India film minted Rs 1.25 crore on Monday (33rd day of its release), as per Sacnilk. The total domestic film collection now stands at Rs 633.25 crore.
The film now needs almost Rs 7 crore more to breach the domestic tally of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan'.
