‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, has shattered the box office records in its opening weekend. As per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ earned Rs 23.2 crore on Sunday, the third day of its release. The nett collection in India now stands at Rs 66.85 crore. For the unversed, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ had minted Rs 21 crore and Rs 22.65 crore on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

As a result, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ now finds itself among the top 10 opening weekends ever for Hollywood movies in India after ‘Avengers: Endgame’, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has also gone past ‘Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire’ to become 2024's biggest Hollywood opener in India. ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ had an overall 38.92 per cent English occupancy on Sunday.

In the US, Disney's latest superhero film collected USD 205 million in its opening weekend, ranking as the eighth-best debut of all time.

As per Variety, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ captured USD 233.3 million for a staggering global tally of USD 438 million.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has been directed by Shawn Levy, and the film also stars Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, and Morena Baccarin in key roles. The film also features some star-studded cameos.

Meanwhile, Dhanush’s new Tamil film ‘Raayan’ was also released in cinemas on Friday (July 26). As per Sacnilk, the new Tamil movie, directed by Dhanush, earned Rs 14.75 crore on Sunday, the third day of its release. The three-day total of the film now stands at Rs 42.15 crore.

Coming to Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk-starrer 'Bad Newz', which was released in cinemas on July 19, earned Rs 3.75 crore on Sunday, the tenth day of its release. The film's domestic collection now stands at Rs 52 crore.

Coming to Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD', starring Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani, the pan-India film minted Rs 4 crore on Sunday (32nd day of its release), as per Sacnilk. The total domestic film collection now stands at Rs 632 crore.

The film now needs Rs 8 crore more to breach the domestic tally of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan'.
