‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, is continuing its solid run at the box office. The new Marvel Cinematic Universe film continued to deliver a steady box office performance on a working Tuesday as it minted Rs 6.22 crore, as per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk. This marks a negligible decline from Monday’s Rs 6.75 crore collection. The five-day net collection in India now stands at Rs 78.92 crore. ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ recorded its best occupancy of nearly 20 percent for the night shows.

The Marvel movie, which is maintaining a comfortable pace, is likely to pass the Rs 100 crore mark in its second weekend. ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has already overtaken the likes of recently released Hindi movies ‘Chandu Champion’, ‘Srikanth’ and ‘Bad Newz’. The new Marvel movie has generated nearly four times as much as the Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Sarfira’.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is set to deliver one of the top opening week performances for a Hollywood release in India, surpassing last year’s ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’, which minted Rs 83.45 crore in seven days.

With almost Rs 80 crore in five days, the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer is set to break the record of Tom Cruise’s film by Wednesday and is likely to close week one with collections over Rs 88 crore. Another recent Marvel movie ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ minted Rs 101.49 crore in its first week.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is likely to remain the top choice for audiences despite two new Hindi film releases -- Ajay Devgn-Tabu starrer ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ and Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Ulajh’, set to arrive in cinemas this Friday, August 2.

The new Marvel film is set to have a comfortable run till August 15. On Independence Day 2024, three new movies – ‘Stree 2’, ‘Khel Khel Mein’ and ‘Vedaa’ are still to release.
