Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal has cemented his place as one of the most versatile actors currently. Fans are eagerly waiting to see the actor on the big screen in his next film ‘Chhaava’. Amid the uncertainty around the release date of ‘Chhava’ reportedly due to the buzz surrounding ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, Vicky Kaushal has now confirmed his next project. The Bollywood actor will be next seen essaying the role of Chiranjeevi Parashurama in ‘Stree 2’ director Amar Kaushik’s ‘Mahavatar’.

Taking to Instagram, production house Maddock Films unveiled the first look of Vicky Kaushal from the upcoming film. Going by Vicky’s intense and fiery first look, it is fair to say that ‘Mahavatar’ looks like a big scale epic.

“Dinesh Vijan brings to life the story of the eternal warrior of dharma! Vicky Kaushal stars as Chiranjeevi Parashurama in #Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik. Coming to cinemas - Christmas 2026,” Maddock Films wrote on Instagram.

Soon after the first look was shared by Maddock Films online, several social media users reacted to it. One user wrote, “Killer.”

Another one commented, “Vicky Kaushal is on fire.”

A third one wrote, “Vicky killing it.”

As per Pinkvilla, ‘Mahavatar’ is slated to go on floors next year. “After Love & War, Vicky was looking to sign on for a mega-budget feature film and producer Dinesh Vijan came up with a script he couldn’t say no to. Vicky’s next after Love & War is an epic feature film that would see him play the part of Lord Parshuram. Vicky jumped to the idea of the film and signed it without any second thoughts,” Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying.

‘Mahavatar’ will be helmed by Amar Kaushik, while it is being bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films. This will mark the third collaboration between Vicky and Maddock after ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ and ‘Chhaava’.

Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhava’ was slated to release in cinemas on December 6, 2024. However, as per reports, the film has been postponed to avoid clash with Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’.

Apart from ‘Chhava’, Vicky Kaushal will also be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Love And War'. The film, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, is slated to release in cinemas on Eid 2026.
