In a new interview, Vicky revisited the very first moment he met Katrina, a meeting that happened long before they ever imagined a future together.
Appearing on ‘Two Much with Twinkle and Kajol’, Vicky Kaushal recalled how he first crossed paths with Katrina Kaif at an award show he was hosting. Katrina was scheduled to perform that evening, and their mutual friend Sunil Grover, who had worked with Katrina in ‘Bharat’, introduced them backstage. Vicky humorously shared that within minutes of meeting him, Katrina surprisingly began giving him hosting advice.
“The first time I met her was at an award show I was hosting,” Vicky said. “I performed Chikni Chameli with her on stage, and later, when we went backstage, Sunil Grover introduced us. Within five minutes of meeting me, Katrina started giving me a tutorial on how to host a show, even though I had already finished the hosting part. I just had to go back on stage and say goodnight!”
Their next interaction came at another award show, where Vicky, as part of a scripted gag, jokingly proposed to her on stage. “During the second award show, I asked her, ‘Why don’t you get married to a nice guy like Vicky?’ But we weren’t dating then,” he laughed. The bit required him to ask every actress the same question, but the moment with Katrina went viral instantly, sparking strong rumours about a possible romance.
Reflecting on their dynamic, Vicky said, “She is a superstar. A much bigger star, she is still the bigger star. She will always be.”
What began as light-hearted, on-stage banter soon blossomed into a private, deeply cherished relationship. After quietly dating for some time, the couple tied the knot on 9 December 2021 in an intimate but grand ceremony at Six Senses Fort Barwara, Rajasthan, in the presence of close family and friends. Their wedding pictures quickly took over the internet, with fans celebrating the union of two beloved stars.
And now, their journey has entered a new chapter. On 7 November 2025, Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif welcomed their first child, a baby boy.
