Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Bad Newz’ To End First Week With Almost Double Lifetime Figure Of Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sarfira’

Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk’s new Hindi movie ‘Bad Newz’ is continuing to maintain a steady pace at the box office. ‘Bad Newz’, directed by Anand Tiwari, has made more than Rs 3 crore on three consecutive days, and the new Hindi movie is likely to go past the Rs 50 crore mark by the end of this week. As per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Bad Newz’ minted Rs 3.25 crore on Wednesday, the sixth day of its release.

The nett domestic collection of ‘Bad Newz’ now stands at Rs 40.20 crore. For the unversed, the new Hindi movie saw a fall of almost 70 per cent on Monday, but ‘Bad Newz’ managed to reclaim lost ground on Tuesday and Wednesday.

‘Bad Newz’ is likely to end its first week with almost double the amount that ‘Sarfira’, starring Akshay Kumar, has earned till now.

Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sarfira’ has earned Rs 22.20 crore in 13 days, and the new Hindi movie has turned out to be yet another box office dud for Khiladi Kumar.

‘Bad Newz’, however, now needs to brave competition from Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, which is set to release in cinemas on Friday, July 26.

As per Sacnilk, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has so far sold 2,77,903 tickets for the opening day, grossing Rs 8.04 crore.

‘Bad Newz’ will also have to face competition from two Hindi releases, which are set to arrive in theatres next week -- Ajay Devgn and Tabu's 'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha' and Janhvi Kapoor's 'Ulajh'.

For the unversed, ‘Bad Newz’ is based on a biological phenomenon called heteropaternal superfecundation.

The new Hindi movie has been directed by Anand Tiwari and it has been jointly bankrolled by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bindra, and Tiwari.

Earlier, Vicky Kaushal had registered the biggest opening of his career with 'Bad Newz', beating his previous best -- 2019's ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’.
