Mega Box Office Clash On Independence Day! 'Stree 2' Vs Akshay Kumar's 'Khel Khel Mein' Vs John Abraham's 'Vedaa'

'Stree 2' will be clashing with Akshay Kumar's 'Khel Khel Mein' and John Abraham's 'Vedaa'.

Fans have been eagerly waiting for horror-comedy 'Stree 2', starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana and Pankaj Tripathi to release in cinemas. In the latest entertainment news, production house Maddock Films on Friday announced the new release of 'Stree 2', and the upcoming Hindi film will now be releasing in cinemas on August 15, 2024. 

"Iss swatantrata diwas, aa rahi hai #Stree fir se! #Stree2 in cinemas this Independence Day, 15th August 2024," production house Maddock Films wrote on Instagram.

As a result, there would now be a three-way box office clash on Independence Day 2024. 'Stree 2' will be clashing with Akshay Kumar's 'Khel Khel Mein' and John Abraham's 'Vedaa'. 

'Stree 2' has been directed by Amar Kaushik and it has been bankrolled by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan production. 

Maddock Films on Monday had also announced that they will be unveiling the first teaser of 'Stree 2' exclusively in theatres, attached to the screenings of 'Munjya'.

The plot of 'Stree', which released in cinemas in 2018, revolved around a witch who abducts men at night when they are alone and only leaves their clothes behind.

'Stree' also received positive reviews, and special praise was directed towards the film's direction, dialogues, and storyline. 

Made on a budget of around Rs 20 crore, the movie went on to do a domestic box office business of more than Rs 125 crore.

Talking about 'Khel Khel Mein', which has been written by directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film is reportedly a story of friends who meet each other after a long time and find themselves in hilarious chaos. It also stars Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Amy Virk, Aditya Seal and Pragya Jaiswal.

Meanwhile, ‘Vedaa’ is directed by Nikkhil Advani and marks his fifth collaboration with John Abraham after ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’, ‘Batla House’, ‘Satyameva Jayate’, and ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’.

While the first two films were directed by Nikkhil Advani, he produced the ‘Satyameva Jayate’ movie series and Milap Zaveri donned the director's hat.

The action thriller also features Sharvari Wagh, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Abhishek Banerjee in key roles.
