The brief sequence itself served as a high-energy spectacle, elevated by its own dedicated soundtrack. In the viral scene, his character makes a dramatic entry and is seen holding a Maratha sword to a rival’s neck before delivering the standout dialogue: “Shivaji nahi; Shivaji Raj mhanaycha.” This specific moment sent theatres into a frenzy of whistles, claps, and madness.
The internet was quick to react to the superstar’s massy, sword-wielding entry. Admirers praised his intense look, with one enthusiastic user on X writing, “Cameo aisa ki puri movie ek taraf, aur Bhai ki entry ek taraf. King of Bollywood for a reason!”
Another fan noted his history of memorable special appearances alongside Riteish Deshmukh, sharing, “Riteish has never disappointed - every time he brings Bhai for a cameo, it turns into a moment. Just saw this one... what a powerful visual! This isn't just a cameo... it's a full-on theatre celebration.”
Other users reminisced about his past historical roles, commenting, “VEER ki yad aa gai,” and playfully adding, “I think Salman has record for most cameos in Bollywood.”
Interestingly, this memorable cameo almost didn't happen, but Salman Khan's personal emotional connection to the project willed it into existence. Riteish Deshmukh recently shared the heartwarming backstory of how the Bollywood megastar became a part of the film. Recalling a conversation during a New Year gathering, Riteish revealed that Salman casually asked him about the film's shoot schedule. When Salman asked which role he would be playing, Riteish admitted that no part had been planned for him yet. Refusing to take no for an answer, Salman insisted on joining the project, stating, “No, no, no... you can't make the film without me, I have to be in it.” Riteish noted that Salman's warmth eventually led to the specific creation of the Jiva Mahala role for him in the historical drama.
‘Raja Shivaji’ is backed by Jio Studios and produced by Jyoti Deshpande along with Genelia Deshmukh under the Mumbai Film Company banner. Directed by Riteish Deshmukh, who also portrays Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the film traces the early years of the leader's resolve to establish Swarajya against powerful forces.
To bring the era to life, the film features a massive star-studded ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Bhagyashree, Mahesh Manjrekar, Boman Irani, Sachin Khedekar, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, and Amol Gupte.
As it arrived in theatres today, ‘Raja Shivaji’ released alongside the Hollywood sequel ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ and the Aamir Khan-backed ‘Ek Din’. However, thanks to Salman Khan’s show-stealing entry, the historical epic has undoubtedly cemented its place as the talk of the town across social media.
