However, instead of a standard compliment, the ‘Tiger 3’ star opted for a playful jab that left everyone on set in stitches.
Salman was seen asking Varun with his trademark wit, “Was that a rehearsal or the actual shot?” The remark immediately sent Varun and director David Dhawan into fits of laughter. Captioning the post, Varun expressed his excitement and slight nerves, writing, “Always nervous to dance next to India's biggest kunwara #VyahKarwadoJi BTS.”
Salman Khan, looking effortlessly cool in his signature sunglasses and casual attire, appeared to be thoroughly enjoying the light-hearted moment.
The song ‘Vyah Karwado Ji’ features Varun alongside Mrunal Thakur and is voiced by the energetic duo of Mika Singh and Asees Kaur, with lyrics penned by Vayu. Fans flooded the comments section of the post, with many highlighting the unique bond Salman shares with the Dhawan family. One user noted, “Salman Khan roasting Varun Dhawan is permanent,” while another commented on the nostalgic value, stating, “Seeing Salman Khan in David Dhawan films is super comforting since childhood.”
‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ marks the fourth collaboration between Varun and his father, veteran director David Dhawan. The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles, supported by Maniesh Paul, Mouni Roy, Rajesh Kumar, and Kubbra Sait.
The connection between Salman Khan and David Dhawan spans decades, with the duo having delivered several blockbusters such as ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’, ‘Judwaa’, ‘Partner’, and ‘Biwi No. 1’. Salman also notably made a cameo appearance in Varun’s ‘Judwaa 2’.
As fans look forward to the theatrical release of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ on May 22, Salman Khan is also making headlines for his own project. The superstar is currently awaiting the release of ‘Maatrubhumi’, directed by Apoorva Lakhia and co-starring Chitrangada Singh.
Although originally slated for an April 10 release, the film has been postponed, with a new date expected to be announced soon.
