Salman Khan house firing case: An accused named Anuj Thapan was found dead in Mumbai Police custody.

Anuj Thapan, an accused who was arrested in the Bollywood actor Salman Khan house firing case, has died in a hospital after he tried to commit suicide in Mumbai Police custody on Wednesday, as reported by Hindustan Times. The deceased Anuj Thapan, who was 23 years old, hanged himself inside the toilet of the lock-up using a bedsheet. As per Hindustan Times, he was then rushed to the GT Hospital, and it was there that he was declared dead. News agency PTI reported that an accidental death report will now be registered at Azad Maidan police station in South Mumbai.

For the unversed, Anuj Thapan and another accused Sonu Subhash Chander, were earlier arrested from Punjab by the Mumbai Police for allegedly supplying guns to shooters Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal.

Vicky and Sagar were previously already arrested for firing multiple rounds of bullets outside Salman Khan's residence in April.

For the unversed, five rounds of shots were fired outside Salman Khan’s residence on April 14 and one of the bullets reportedly landed on the balcony of the actor’s residence.

The two accused escaped on a bike and they were arrested in Gujarat then. Identified as Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, they were arrested from Bhuj. 

Meanwhile, on the work front, Salman Khan was last seen in the 2023 Hindi movie ‘Tiger 3’ alongside Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi. Last year, he was also seen in Farhad Samji's ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, which marked the Bollywood debut of Shehnaaz Gill and Palak Tiwari.

Salman Khan will next be seen in Sajid Nadiadwala and AR Murugadoss’ upcoming movie titled ‘Sikandar’, which is slated to release in cinemas on Eid 2025.
