'Dhurandhar' has set a massive Netflix record, beating 'Animal', 'Fighter' and more.

'Dhurandhar', directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal, turned out to be a true box-office monster, collecting more than Rs 800 crore in India and becoming the highest-grossing Hindi-language film yet. Ever since the film began earning rave reviews, many cinephiles expressed their desire to see the project on a streaming platform. And hence, it is no surprise to see the film breaking all sorts of records on streaming since its arrival on Netflix on January 30.

According to Hindustan Times, 'Dhurandhar' debuted with a whopping 7.6 million views in its opening weekend, surpassing several big-ticket films like 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', 'Animal', 'Jawan' and 'Fighter'. This is the first time that any post-theatrical digital release from India has crossed the 7 million mark in its opening weekend.

'Animal', directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Ranbir Kapoor, earned 6.2 million views in its opening weekend, while Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's 'Fighter' earned 5.9 million views. 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, earned 5 million views.

'Dhurandhar' has also topped the weekly global Top 10 list of non-English films across seven countries. The film has also accumulated 26.1 million hours of viewing time and is also trending at number one in Pakistan, where its theatrical release was banned.

Earlier this week, Ranveer Singh dropped the teaser for 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge', confirming the film will release on March 19, 2026, setting up a high-voltage clash with Yash's 'Toxic'.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar’ released on December 5 and followed Ranveer’s Indian spy as he infiltrated Karachi’s underworld to dismantle its nexus with terror groups.

The film also starred Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Saumya Tandon and Danish Pandor, among many others. The first film went on to become one of the biggest hits in Bollywood history, earning over Rs 1300 crore worldwide.
