The title track of Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ was featured during a performance at a NBA game recently.
The global phenomenon of ‘Dhurandhar’ continues to reach new heights, as the film's infectious music recently took centre stage at a National Basketball Association (NBA) game in the United States. The action-spy thriller, starring Ranveer Singh, has officially become a global sensation. Within just one month of its release, the film shattered records both in India and overseas, comfortably crossing the Rs 1000 crore milestone worldwide. A significant part of this success is attributed to the film's chart-topping soundtrack, composed by Sashwat Sachdev.
The film’s title track recently went viral after the Bhangra Empire dance group performed to it in San Francisco, California. Dressed in traditional Punjabi attire, the group delivered a high-energy routine ahead of the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Milwaukee Bucks. The official Instagram page of Bhangra Empire shared a video of the dance routine.

Sharing the performance online, the group noted they were starting the game “off with a bang”. The crowd's enthusiastic response was mirrored online, with fans flooding the comments with fire emojis. One user noted that “Dhurandhar fever is uniting everyone,” while others praised the group for bringing Bhangra to such a massive global platform.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar’ follows the gripping story of an Indian spy, Hamza Ali Mazari (played by Ranveer Singh under the alias Jaskirat Singh Rangi). His mission involves infiltrating a Baloch gang in Lyari, Pakistan, led by the formidable Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna).
The star-studded ensemble cast also included Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. Fans won't have to wait long for the story to continue. The sequel, ‘Dhurandhar 2’, is already scheduled for a major Eid release on March 19, 2026. The film will be released in Hindi as well as all major South Indian languages.
‘Dhurandhar’ has so far made Rs 790 crore in India, as per Sacnilk. The Aditya Dhar directorial has slowed down in its fifth week of release, collecting in single digits. The film went on to earn in double digits for 28 days straight, setting a record. In its first week, the film collected Rs 207.25 crore. The film showed growth in its second week and minted Rs 253.25 crore. In the third and fourth weeks, ‘Dhurandhar’ went on to earn Rs 172 crore and Rs 106.5 crore, respectively. The film has crossed the Rs 1200 crore mark worldwide.
