Makers of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ have released the film’s first song ‘Aari Aari’.

With just a week to go before its theatrical release, expectations for ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ are soaring. The spy action thriller is set to hit cinemas on March 19, and the excitement around the film has only intensified since the release of its over three-minute-long trailer last week. The trailer introduced Ranveer Singh as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, portraying him in a fierce “beast mode” avatar as he prepares to seek revenge against Pakistan.

One element that particularly caught viewers’ attention was the track ‘Aari Aari’, which was used as the background score in the trailer. Much like the prequel – where the song ‘Na De Dil Pardesi Nu’ became a chartbuster even before the trailer dropped – fans were eager to hear the full version of ‘Aari Aari’. Responding to the massive demand, the makers finally released the song on Thursday afternoon along with a stylised lyrical video featuring visuals from the film.

Released by T-Series, ‘Aari Aari’ reportedly serves as the title track of ‘Dhurandhar 2’. The video showcases Ranveer Singh in a ferocious avatar, taking down enemies with intensity and power. It also reveals his character’s rise to power as he replaces Akshaye Khanna’s character Rehman Daikat as Lyari’s Badshah, Sher-e-Baloch, with crowds celebrating his takeover. The clip also offers glimpses of the much-anticipated face-off between Ranveer Singh and Arjun Rampal, who plays Major Iqbal, the film’s central antagonist.

The music video heavily focuses on the rivalry between Ranveer’s Jaskirat Singh Rangi and Arjun Rampal’s Major Iqbal, with both characters introduced through dramatic slow-motion shots, bloodied yet exuding confidence and swagger.

A rap segment written and performed by Rebel and Token plays over sequences showing Sanjay Dutt’s Chaudhary Aslam unleashing violence on Lyari’s gangs, while R. Madhavan’s Ajay Sanyal appears in intense shots confronting hijackers from the opening scene of the previous film. As the track builds toward its climax, other ensemble characters appear, including Danish Pandor covered in blood and Sara Arjun pointing a gun directly at the camera.

The revived version of ‘Aari Aari’, originally by Bombay Rockers, has been composed, arranged and programmed by Shashwat Sachdev. The track blends contemporary production with Punjabi influences. It features vocals by Navtej Singh Rehal of Bombay Rockers, Khan Saab, Jasmine Sandlas and Sudhir Yaduvanshi, while Rebel and Token contribute the rap portions. The lyrics have been written by Irshad Kamil along with Bombay Rockers, and the score has been produced by Adam Lucas.

A key highlight of the song is the striking contrast between Ranveer’s character’s past identity as Jaskirat and his present role as Hamza, a spy operating in Pakistan who is now ready to unleash what the film describes as the “wrath of God”.

Fans quickly flooded social media with reactions, praising the track and calling it an absolute “banger.” One viewer wrote, “Rebel deserves as much hype as Hanumankind. She's fire,” while another commented, “Shashwat Sachdev is becoming one of my favourites quickly... Damn this is good.” Another fan wrote, “Not that the hype wasn’t already insane but holy f**k, proper banger. 18th can’t come soon enough.”

Directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ will explore the backstory of Ranveer Singh’s character and his journey to becoming a spy. The film also follows how he eventually takes control of a powerful criminal syndicate in Pakistan and enters into a deadly confrontation with Arjun Rampal’s Major Iqbal.

Presented by Jio Studios and produced by B62 Studios, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ will release in five languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The film will arrive in cinemas worldwide on March 19, 2026, coinciding with the festivals of Gudi Padwa and Ugadi.

Ahead of its release, special paid previews are scheduled to begin on the evening of March 18. As of Wednesday, advance bookings had already crossed Rs 23.9 crore, putting the film on the verge of breaking last year’s record held by ‘They Call Him OG’, starring Pawan Kalyan, which earned Rs 25 crore from paid previews – the biggest Indian premiere to date.

Interestingly, the film was initially expected to clash with ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’, starring Yash. However, the makers postponed ‘Toxic’ to June 4 due to tensions in the Middle East, allowing ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ to enjoy a solo theatrical release.
