Nayanthara has finally given her reason behind choosing 'Jawan' as her Bollywood debut.

Lady Superstar Nayanthara made her Bollywood debut in 2023 with Atlee's 'Jawan', in which she shared the screen with Shah Rukh Khan. The film, which also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Deepika Padukone, turned out to be a blockbuster, and the movie is currently the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. In the latest entertainment news, Nayanthara has finally given her reason behind choosing 'Jawan' as her Bollywood debut. Speaking to Hello Magazine, Nayanthara said, "I was looking for a film like Jawan which is a commercial venture with a huge star. At the same time, I was also keen on a meaty role where I get to kick some ass.”

Further speaking about SRK, the actress said, "Who is not his fan? We have all grown up watching his films and we all love them. Apart from being the huge star that he is, I really admire the fact that he respects women a lot.” 

“I was pretty sure that Jawan would create a huge impact. After working so many years in the industry you know when a film is going to work and vice versa,” she added

Talking about 'Jawan', the film also stars Sunil Grover, Priyamani, Sunil Grover and Sanjay Dutt. 

For the unversed, ‘Jawan’ released in cinemas on September 7, 2023, and the film recorded a lifetime collection of Rs 643.87 crore in India and Rs 1,148.32 crore worldwide.

'Jawan' is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation directed by Atlee, produced by Gauri Khan, and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film was released worldwide in theatres on September 7th, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

The film is currently streaming on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. 'Jawan' also features special appearances by Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt.

Speaking of Nayanthara, the actress will next be seen in 'Mannangatti: Since 1960'. The film has been written and directed by Dude Vicky. 

Her other upcoming projects include 'The Test' which also stars Siddharth, Trisha Krishnan, and R Madhavan in pivotal roles.
