“TikToker Hai Ye Ladka”: Mohit Suri Says The World Hasn’t Seen Ahaan Panday’s Other Side
'Saiyaara', starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Pada, is continuing to wreak havoc at the box office.

Who would have thought that a film starring absolute newcomers would become a rage and the second-highest Hindi grosser of 2025? But this is exactly what has happened. 'Saiyaara', starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Pada, is continuing to wreak havoc at the box office and is marching towards the Rs 300 crore mark at the domestic box office. Both Aneet and Ahaan are winning praise for their portrayal of Krish and Vaani in the film. Director Mohit Suri has now revealed that there is a lot about Ahaan and Aneet that the audience is yet to discover.
Speaking to Komal Nahta, Mohit Suri recalled a moment from the shooting, revealing Ahaan Panday's curiosity about his casting.
“Sir, maine toh ek dimension hi inmein tap nahi kiya hai. Mujhe yaad hai, 30th day of shooting par, jab 50 per cent shoot ho chuki thi, he suddenly turns to our creative producer and says, ‘Sumanna, maine kya kiya tha audition mein? Aisa toh koi audition diya hi nahi tha maine. Mujhe bola gaya tha, you are the right one'," he said.
"He has a whole different side—the way he dances, he’s a gallery man! He dances for the front benchers. Aapne woh videos dekhe nahi hai jo usne pull down kar diye. TikToker hai yeh ladka. Full chapri hai. He’s a full, out-there, galleried, Gaiety Galaxy boy jo Bandra mein hai," he added.
Directed by Mohit Suri and backed by Yash Raj Films (YRF), ‘Saiyaara’ marks his return to the romantic drama genre. Released on July 18, the film tells the passionate story of Krish Kapoor (Ahaan Panday), a fiery musician, and Vaani (Aneet Padda), a reserved journalist.
With glowing reviews and strong word of mouth, the film has raked in Rs 274 crore at the box office so far, cementing its place as a surprise hit.
In an earlier interview, Mohit Suri revealed that Aneet was cast specifically because of her natural look.
“I’m sorry if I don’t sound politically correct, but one thing that was very scary was that I wanted a 20–22-year-old girl who hadn’t done anything cosmetological to her face or body in today’s age. That was a big requirement,” he shared.
