Ananya Panday’s Cousin Ahaan Panday To Make His Bollywood Debut With Mohit Suri’s ‘Saiyaara’
Ahaan Panday is all set to make his Bollywood debut in YRF’s romantic drama ‘Saiyaara’, directed by Mohit Suri.
After years of behind-the-scenes prep and industry buzz, Ahaan Panday — cousin of actress Ananya Panday — is finally stepping into the limelight. The newcomer is all set to make his much-anticipated Bollywood debut with ‘Saiyaara’, a romantic drama backed by Yash Raj Films (YRF). Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Aditya Chopra, the film will hit theatres on July 18, 2025. Joining Ahaan in the lead is actress Aneet Padda, who was seen in ‘Salaam Venky’ alongside Kajol and Aamir Khan.
This project also marks a first-time collaboration between two big names: Aditya Chopra and Mohit Suri — the latter known for delivering hit romantic thrillers like ‘Aashiqui 2’, ‘Ek Villain’, ‘Malang’, ‘Murder 2’, and ‘Awarapan’. YRF described the upcoming film as “an intense love story that brings YRF and Mohit Suri together for the first time.”
Ahaan Panday, son of Chikki Panday and nephew of actor Chunky Panday, has long been seen as one of the industry’s most likely debutants from the next generation of star kids. Over the years, he’s been mentored by Aditya Chopra. Before facing the camera, he also worked as an assistant director on YRF’s acclaimed series ‘The Railway Men’.
The announcement of ‘Saiyaara’ follows YRF’s earlier star-kid launch — Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, who made his acting debut in ‘Maharaj’, a Netflix original based on the 1862 Maharaj Libel Case. That film sparked controversy ahead of its release when a court issued a stay citing concerns about religious sentiments. However, after viewing the film, the Gujarat High Court lifted the ban, stating there was nothing objectionable, and ‘Maharaj’ released as planned.
As for ‘Saiyaara’, the buzz is already building. Ananya Panday showed her support for her cousin by posting a heartfelt shoutout via Instagram Stories, welcoming him to the movies.

Meanwhile, Ananya Panday can be seen in ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ currently. Co-starring Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan, the movie has so far minted Rs 34 crore in India.
