Jr NTR Set To Play Negative Role In Hrithik Roshan's ‘War 2’: Report
‘RRR’ star Jr NTR is reportedly going to essay a negative role in Hrithik Roshan’s upcoming Bollywood film ‘War 2’.
Hrithik Roshan’s highly-anticipated movie ‘War 2’ has got everyone talking ever since it was announced that the film is in the works. After revealing that Ayan Mukerji will be directing ‘War 2’, Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh also shared that ‘RRR’ star Jr NTR will be featuring in the movie alongside Hrithik Roshan. And there’s another exciting update on the second installment of ‘War’. Jr NTR will essay a negative role in this spy film.
According to a report by Pinkvilla, while the final script is still being developed, Jr NTR’s character in ‘War 2’ will have some negative shades which will add an interesting layer to the overall story.
The actor is reportedly excited to play the part. Moreover, Hrithik and Jr NTR will also do many reading sessions with Ayan Mukerji to get into their characters before they start shooting for the film.
‘War 2’ is expected to go on floors by the end of this year. According to Taran Adarsh, ‘War 2’ will follow the events of ‘Tiger 3’, which will star Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi. ‘Tiger 3’ is set to hit theatres on the auspicious occasion of Diwali 2023.
Not much is known about ‘War 2’ yet but the film promises to be an action-packed, thrilling ride that will keep the audience on the edge of their seats just like its first part. ‘War’, which released in October 2019, also starred Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor.
Created by Aditya Chopra, the YRF spy universe kicked off with the ‘Tiger’ franchise, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, beginning with ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (2012) and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (2017), and continued with ‘War’.
The latest instalment in the universe, ‘Pathaan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, is the biggest Indian hit of 2023 so far.
In the ‘Tiger’ franchise, Salman Khan played Avinash Singh Rathore, AKA Tiger, who belongs to Indian intelligence agency RAW and Katrina Kaif played Zoya Humaini from Pakistan’s ISI.
In ‘War’, Hrithik Roshan essayed the role of rogue RAW agent Kabir Dhaliwal and Tiger Shroff was his protege Khalid Rahmani.
In ‘Pathaan’, Shah Rukh Khan played exiled RAW agent Pathaan and Deepika Padukone was an ISI agent Rubina Mohsin.
Salman Khan’s Tiger had a cameo appearance in SRK’s ‘Pathaan’ and the film also featured Colonel Sunil Luthra (Ashutosh Rana), who first appeared in ‘War’ and is expected to be in ‘Tiger 3’ as well.
Coming back to ‘War’, the film was directed by Siddharth Anand and turned out to be the biggest blockbuster of 2019 with collection of over Rs 300 crore at the domestic box office.
Meanwhile, Hrithik is presently shooting for Siddharth Anand’s ‘Fighter’ with Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor.
Jr NTR is riding high on the success and the Oscar win of SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’. He is presently shooting for Koratala Siva’s ‘NTR 30’, which also features Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role.
