“Badtameezi Mat Karo, Muh Band”: Jaya Bachchan Scolds Paparazzi. Watch
Jaya Bachchan lashed out at paparazzi for unruly behaviour at a Mumbai event.
Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan made headlines once again after she was spotted losing her cool at the paparazzi during a recent event in Mumbai. Jaya Bachchan, who arrived with her daughter Shweta Bachchan, appeared visibly annoyed as photographers rushed toward her, crowding the entrance and creating chaos while trying to click her pictures. The veteran actress, dressed in an elegant suit and wearing a mask, walked toward the venue but seemed increasingly bothered by the loud commotion around her.
At one point, Jaya stopped abruptly and gave a sharp, stern look toward the photographers on her right, holding her gaze for several seconds. Shweta immediately noticed her mother’s discomfort and gently held her hand, guiding her back toward the venue. A video of the incident is now circulating widely across Instagram.
Her frustration did not end there. While exiting the event later, she reprimanded the photographers for unnecessary comments. A video of the same is going viral, where Jaya Bachchan can be seen firmly instructing the paparazzi, “Aap log photo lo, badtameezi mat karo. Chup raho muh band rakho photo lo… khatam. Upar se comments karte rahte ho.”

Jaya Bachchan has long been vocal about her discomfort with paparazzi culture and the invasive nature of celebrity photography. Over the years, she has repeatedly confronted mediapersons at events, calling them out for unruly behaviour and lack of boundaries.
Recently, during an episode of granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda’s podcast, What The Hell Navya, Jaya criticised the way paparazzi videos are edited and circulated online. She explained that what is recorded and what is eventually published are often “two different things,” adding, “You have the freedom to do it – what about my freedom?”
She further noted that some photographers deliberately provoke reactions from celebrities just to spark discussions and online arguments. “I know some people make a comment so that they know there will be a reaction, then there will be a discussion, then there will be a tu-tu-main-main. So there are some celebrities who thrive on such things,” she said, hinting at the cycle of attention and sensationalism surrounding viral pap interactions.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Jaya Bachchan was last seen in Karan Johar’s 2023 romantic drama ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ alongside Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. While she remains an iconic figure with a celebrated acting career, it is her candid, no-nonsense public persona and strong stance on privacy that continue to shape her interactions with the media.
