Watch: Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Pardesiya’ Kathak Performance Is A Visual Hug Wrapped In Rhythm And Emotion
Janhvi Kapoor channelled her inner grace with a beautiful Kathak performance on 'Pardesiya', the new romantic track from 'Param Sundari'.
There’s something truly captivating about watching an actor lose themselves in a song from their own film and Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor just did that in the most graceful way. The actress took to Instagram to share a dance video on ‘Pardesiya’, the romantic track from her upcoming film ‘Param Sundari’, and fans can’t stop gushing. Clad in a simple blue suit, Janhvi performed a Kathak routine with poise and emotion, confessing she’s obsessed with the track and that it reignited her love for the classical form.
“Idk if it’s normal to be this obsessed with your own song. Mohiniyattam kar kar ke kathak se thodi out of practice ho gayi but this song brought back those feeeeels,” Janhvi wrote in the caption.

For the unversed, Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra are gearing up to share screen space in the romantic drama ‘Param Sundari’. After the teaser, the makers released ‘Pardesiya’, a soulful romantic number sung by Sonu Nigam, which has already struck a chord with audiences.
Just a day after the song’s launch, Janhvi shared a video dancing to it, reviving her classical roots. While she admitted being a bit out of practice with Kathak after focusing on Mohiniyattam, the track brought back all the feels, as she put it.
The video, shared on her social media, saw Janhvi dancing solo in an empty studio space, barefoot and expressive, letting the rhythm guide her.
The song itself began with Sidharth’s character mesmerised by Janhvi, leading into a montage of love and longing, perfectly setting the tone for the film.
Directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, ‘Param Sundari’ follows the love story of a North Indian boy and a South Indian girl, played by Sidharth and Janhvi respectively. Initially set to release on July 25, the film’s new release date is now August 29, 2025.
Apart from ‘Param Sundari’, Janhvi has a packed line up with ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ opposite Varun Dhawan, releasing on October 1.
She’s also part of Atlee’s big-budget project with Allu Arjun, alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Deepika Padukone and Mrunal Thakur.
Janhvi will also be seen in ‘Peddi’ with Ram Charan.
