“Bollywood Mein Mera…”: Elvish Yadav Joins ‘Malamaal Weekly 2’ Cast
Elvish Yadav has joined the cast of ‘Malamaal Weekly 2’ alongside Paresh Rawal and Riteish Deshmukh. Here’s what he said about his Bollywood journey.
Bollywood’s love affair with comedy franchises continues to grow. Joining the successful ranks of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, ‘Dhamaal’, and ‘Golmaal’ is the latest franchise addition: ‘Malamaal Weekly 2’. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Priyadarshan’s 2006 blockbuster ‘Malamaal Weekly’ was finally getting a sequel after twenty years. Now, the cast has grown manifold, blending the original fan favourites with fresh faces, including YouTuber and reality show star Elvish Yadav.

According to reports, the male leads for the highly anticipated sequel will feature the returning original trio of Paresh Rawal, Riteish Deshmukh, and Rajpal Yadav, alongside Elvish Yadav. The female leads are set to be Parineeti Chopra, Raveena Tandon, and Shilpa Shirodkar. Directed by Amit Joshi, the film is expected to go into production in November 2026.
For Elvish Yadav, this marks his second major movie announcement in a remarkably short span. Just days ago, it was revealed that he signed his first Bollywood film starring Tiger Shroff, directed by Remo D'Souza, and produced by Ankita Lokhande's husband, Vicky Jain.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share his excitement about his sophomore project, Elvish posted an emotional note to his fans: “Nayi film. Naya safar. Main bahar se aaya hoon, Bollywood mein mera koi nahi tha. Aap logon ke beech se uth kar aaya, aur aapke pyaar ne mujhe ab bade parde tak pahuncha diya. Aaj jo kuch bhi hoon, aapke pyaar ki wajah se hoon. Aur isi pyaar ki wajah se main 'MALAMAAL' hu. Bas pyaar banaye rakhna.”

His loyal fanbase immediately flooded the platform with support. One fan wrote, “Forever love & support acting mein systumm hang kardo.” Another encouraged him, tweeting, “@ElvishYadav aap mehnat karte raho bhai aahi mauka hai bade parde pe apna Jalwa dikhane ka.” A third user humorously noted his rapid success: “Bhai itni jldi to meri bandi ka reply bhi ni aata jitna jldi tera b2b movie annoucement aa raha.”
While the upcoming film is a sequel, it will follow a completely new story while retaining the core concept of the original: a group of people drowning in poverty who get wrapped into a chaotic series of events when the possibility of acquiring sudden wealth falls before them. The expectations are quite high, especially considering the 2006 original – which featured no bankable stars at the time – became a massive hit, raking in a worldwide gross collection of Rs 42.7 crore against a modest budget of just Rs 7 crore.
Adding to the hype, the cast has already started building momentum with some hilarious banter on X. Hinting at the film's premise, veteran actor Paresh Rawal wrote: “Mother Lakshmi is capricious, she never stays in one place, And her riding on an owl teaches us— Being just “filthy rich” isn't enough,. A bit of wisdom and discernment is also essential. Otherwise, the moment money arrives, a person, Instead of managing the money, ends up becoming an owl himself.”
Elvish Yadav capped off the exchange by replying, “Absolutely right. Mother Lakshmi is fickle, so one should also learn to hold onto money as soon as it comes. Otherwise, today a man will say 'I'm a millionaire' and tomorrow, upon checking his bank balance, he'll say to himself. 'Oh Mother Lakshmi, did you come or did you just bless me with a glimpse and leave?'”
With a stellar ensemble, a hilarious premise, and a witty cast already entertaining fans online, ‘Malamaal Weekly 2’ is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated comedy sequels in recent times.
