Following Dharmendra's death, his family is organising a prayer meet titled 'Celebration of Life' at Taj Lands End.

Following the heart-breaking passing of legendary actor Dharmendra on November 24, his family has organised a prayer meet today, Thursday, to honour his memory. The prayer meet, titled ‘Celebration of Life,’ is scheduled to take place in the lawns of Taj Lands End in Bandra, Mumbai. According to reports, the ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM and is expected to conclude by 7:30 PM.

Preparations have been in full swing throughout the day, with hotel staff and event planners coordinating security, seating, and floral arrangements to manage the expected large gathering of fans, friends, and industry colleagues. According to an IANS report, singer Sonu Nigam is expected to pay a musical tribute by performing some of Dharmendra’s most iconic songs during the ceremony.

In the days leading up to the prayer meet, the Deol residence has seen a steady stream of Bollywood luminaries arriving to offer condolences.

On November 26, veteran actress Asha Parekh visited the grieving family. Parekh and Dharmendra shared a celebrated on-screen partnership, delivering hits like ‘Aaye Din Bahar Ke’ (1966), ‘Shikar’ (1968), ‘Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke’ (1969), ‘Mera Gaon Mera Desh’ (1971), and ‘Samadhi’ (1972).

Prior to that, on November 25, a host of celebrities visited the home, including Hrithik Roshan, Rakesh Roshan, Ajay Devgn, Farah Khan, Jackky Bhagnani, and Rakul Preet Singh. Later in the evening, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Saif Ali Khan – accompanied by Karisma Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor – also arrived to pay their respects.

Dharmendra, affectionately known as the ‘He-Man’ of Bollywood, passed away on Monday, November 24, at the age of 89. He had been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month due to breathlessness. Although he was discharged on November 12, his health unfortunately declined, and he passed away just weeks shy of his 90th birthday, which would have been on December 8.

His last rites were performed on November 24 at the Pawan Hans Crematorium, attended by family and close industry associates including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone.

With a career spanning over six decades, Dharmendra evolved from a charismatic romantic hero to one of Indian cinema’s most versatile icons. He is survived by his wives, Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, and his children – Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta Deol, Ajeita Deol, Esha Deol, and Ahana Deol.
