Do you have a desk job and lead a sedentary lifestyle? If your answer is yes, you probably suffer from a bad posture. While some people take small stretching and walking breaks in between, many of us spend hours slouching in front of a computer. Unfortunately, poor posture can trigger many body issues, including neck pain, headaches, and lower back strain. So, squeezing in a small workout routine can be very beneficial, especially a few yoga asanas and stretching. And if you need some motivation then head to Deepika Padukone’s Instagram feed.

Deepika Padukone, who is expecting her first child with actor-husband Ranveer Singh, took to Instagram to share her five-minute self-care routine. Speaking about the benefits of working out regularly, Deepika Padukone aced her favourite yoga pose, the Viparita Karani. The actress also revealed that she never skips performing this.

Check out Deepika Padukone’s Instagram post below:

Mom-to-be Deepika Padukone has always been vocal about self-care and is also a mental health advocate.

In the caption of her pose, she spoke about her go-to yoga asana ‘Viparita Karani’ or the legs-up-the-wall pose. “In Sanskrit, viparita means “inverted” and karani translates to “in action.” This active inversion position is also called the restful inversion,” a part from Deepika’s caption read.

This yoga pose involves lying with your legs up against the wall. The yoga asana offers numerous benefits, including calming the nervous system and boosting the immune system.

Deepika Padukone further shared that expecting mothers can also try Viparita Karani with the support of cushion or pregnancy pillows. This yoga pose reduces pain in muscles and joints, a very common pregnancy discomfort. It also helps in better water retention and when they lift their legs for this exercise, it reduces swelling in their ankles.

As per Deepika, individuals with glaucoma and high blood pressure are advised not to try this yoga pose.

Soon after Deepika Padukone shared this on her Instagram account, her doting husband Ranveer Singh commented on the post. He wrote, “Works like magic!”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika Padukone can be currently seen in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, co-starring Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani.

Next up, she will be seen in Rohit Shetty's action-packed cop movie ‘Singham Again’, as a fierce lady police officer.

Deepika Padukone also has ‘Bramhastra 2’ and ‘The Intern’ in her kitty.
