'Awarapan 2' Teaser: Emraan Hashmi Returns As ‘Shivam’ After 19 Years. Watch
The teaser for 'Awarapan 2' was unveiled on the original film's 19th anniversary.
The fans were crying out loud for Emraan Hashmi to return in his OG lover boy era! And it has taken him 19 years to hear the voice of his ardent supporters. The fans have sung ‘To Phir Aao’ for many years, and 2026 is the year when Emraan will give back to his fans. On Monday, Vishesh Films finally unveiled the long-awaited teaser for 'Awarapan 2', and the clip confirms that Emraan will be essaying one of his beloved characters, Shivam Pandit.
It is worth noting that Mohit Suri's 'Awarapan' tanked at the box office when it released in cinemas, but over the years, the project has managed to attain cult status, and the film's music remains one of the biggest chartbusters to come out of Bollywood.
The teaser for 'Awarapan 2' was unveiled on the original film's 19th anniversary. The clip promises an emotional continuation of a story. The teaser begins with a man (Emraan) still being affected and shattered by the loss of his love interest Aaliyah (Shriya Saran).
The teaser then gets going with Emraan saying a powerful dialogue, “Kuch logon ki kahaniyan unki marzi se khatam nahi hoti. Unki kahani doosron ke liye likhi jaati hai."
The montage then shows us Emraan's downward spiral as he visits Aaliyah's grave. We are also given a sneak peek into the characters played by Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi. As the tension builds, Shivam states, “Dard se purana rishta hai mera.”

The biggest highlight of the teaser is the revival of ‘Toh Phir Aao’. Mithoon has composed this fresh version, titled 'Toh Phir Aao 2.0', alongside lyricist Sayeed Qadri.
Speaking of 'Awarapan 2', the film brings back Emraan Hashmi alongside Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi, with Surendar Vicky, Vijayant Kholi, and Atul Kumar in key roles. The project has been produced by Vishesh Bhatt, directed by Nitin Kakkar, and written by Bilal Siddiqui. The film will release in theatres on August 14.
The film is set to clash at the box office with Sunny Deol-led 'Batwara 1947'. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, the film also stars Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal and Karan Deol.
